Aquajock?

AJ,

My thoughts are with you, your husband and your brother. I'm sorry for your recent difficulties.

Also, congratulations on your successes. Eighteen years of sobriety is nothing to sneeze at. And the 25-lb dumbbells...well, remind me to never challenge you to arm wrestling.

AJ!

I am so sorry I missed this post! Had your DH had any problems before that he was aware of? I send him and you my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. He's a lucky man to have YOU at his side. Also, extra prayers for your brother while he is away and for his safe return. Tell him thanks for us for all he is doing! Keep us posted on both of them and also congrats on your anniversary next month! You are simply AMAZING!!!

RE: AJ!

Hi, DebbiEEEEEEEEEE! Thanks for your good thoughts!

DH's heart attack was what they called a "silent heart attack", where the symptoms came on subtly but quickly; it bubbled up early one morning during the workweek a few weeks ago, and just roiled up like a Texas Tornado. The angioplasty revealed two occluded arteries, and the before-and-after photographs they showed us of the occluded-then-reprofused arteries were the starkest images I'd ever seen. No overt symptoms before that, except he seemed to be getting tireder (word?!) at the end of the day in the previous months. I'm very, very proud of him: he has participated fully in his recovery, has TOTALLY quit smoking (after a 40+year pack-a-day habit), went to his exercise rehab sessions faithfully, is diligent with his meds, and is willing to do his part to NOT have this happen again. Who knows - someday he may join my aqua class, or a Cathe session or two!

My brother continues to send us e-missives from the front lines. As ongoing as my attention was to media coverage of the war in Iraq prior to his deployment, it can't help but become a little more personal when it's a relative who's in the thick of it.

Thanks again for your good thoughts. I had to call in sick today at work (and, just in passing: certain deli sandwiches have a VERY short shelf life leading to certain digestive upsets when said shelf-lives are exceeded, which I learned to my dismay! TMI), so your thoughts, and everyone else's, are very touching.

I hope you recover quickly from the over-aged-deli-sandwich.... Could be a problem during one of your famous Mish-moshes.
