Anyone use Udo's Choice Oil?

Hi everyone,

I've been following the guidelines in Tom Venuto's BFFM book for awhile, and have been getting great results with it. In that book, one of the main supplements he suggests taking is Udo's Choice Oil to get your fatty acids, and I'm thinking about ordering some. Have any of you been using this? If so, do you like it?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I do! When I did the Fat Flush Plan, I started taking Flax Oil and GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) supplements. Now I take Udo's Oil every day. I love it. There are so many benefits - clearer skin, less PMS symptoms, let alone the benefits it provides "inside". Check out his website.

I recommend it to all my friends and family. If you want to know anything more specific, let me know and I'll try to help.

Thanks, Melissa! It sounds like it's a wonderful product!

Can I ask where you purchase it? Is there a good on-line site for it?

Thanks so much!
Leanne

Leanne,

I've only purchased mine from my local health food store or Vitamin Shoppe. Haven't ordered it online, so I don't have any recommendations. However, it is available at www.vitaminshoppe.com.

Let me know how it works out for you!

Hi Melissa,

Another question: do you use the regular Udo's Choice or the 3-6-9 blend? I've been looking at his website and some other on-line stores, and I can't tell the difference between them except that the 3-6-9 blend has more Omega 9's in it.

Thanks!
Leanne

I'm pretty sure from looking at Udo's website and a few other retail websites, that there are three main types of oil to choose from:

-Udo's Choice Oil Blend looks like it's the same thing as the 3-6-9 Oil Blend. I think maybe some have a newer label. It may have the word "perfected" in the title as well.

-There is also a DHA or vegetarian blend.

-There's also a high lignan blend.

I take the first one, although next time I might get the high lignan blend. You can't go wrong with any of them. But don't get the pills - it takes a bunch of pills to equal one tablespoon of oil. It's best to just use the pills for travel.

In case you don't know, keep in mind that the oil must be refrigerated. Once opened you're supposed to use it within a certain amount of time, but if you're using it every day that shouldn't be a problem. And don't cook with it, however you can add a tablespoon to food once it's cooked.

I'm not claiming to be an expert, just have read about it a bit, but I'm happy to help if you have any more questions...

Hi Melissa,

Thanks so much for all these detailed information! I had been looking at the pills, too, but, like you said, it seemed like you would have to take a lot of the pills to equal what the nutritional value of the oil. I think that I'm going to go ahead and order the 3-6-9 oil right now!

Thanks for your advice! I can't wait to start using it!

You're welcome Leanne. I hesitate giving advice about such things, but I really think there are so many benefits of taking Udo's oil (and similar products) that I couldn't resist. I hope you like it. Give it a fair chance to work and report back...

Good luck!

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I'll definitely report back after I've used it for a few weeks! I talked to my husband about it, and we've both decided to commit to using it for a few months to see how we like it!

Thanks for all your help!!
