Anyone Successfully Reduce Quad Musculature??

I'm talking actually about reducing muscle in the quads, not "simply" watching diet to reduce body fat. I have large quads that are almost all muscle. I read conflicting things....one says to atrophy them by not working them at all....the next thing I read says work them everyday, ie. Freestyle Training.....some say do more cardio....then the next article will say the cardio shouldn't be running, step or HiiT!

Any insight to share here??

(I'm only 5'1" and sick of these large thighs. I also don't want to lift more for my upper body to "balance" my look. I'm trying to lose muscle there too, but I'm not as concerned about that right now)

Barre exercise did it for me. Look at Tracy Anderson Mat Workout...do the beginner DVD first to learn her method and look at Suzanne Bowen. I'm doing her BarreAmped workout now and love it. I do Cathe Hiit etc. in between. I'm 5 feet tall and big muscles just don't do it for me either.

What is your general workout rotation like? Thanks for sharing. I've never done TA before. I do own SB's Amped Bootcamp.

Tracy Anderson and P57 really helped to slim down my arms and quads. I found Meta Omni to be very effective and no walk in the park at least for me. The only time I have ever had sweat dripping off my nose was while doing Meta Omni.

Stacy,

I did TA for a while but got a little bored with the endless reps even though it was working. I'm doing Suzanne Bowen now and love her workouts. They are very effective and the results have been stunning so far. I do a barre DVD then the next day a Cathe Hiit workout or other cardio. I've also cut back to 5 days a week from 6, doing BarreAmped for 3 days and Hiit 2 days and another cardio if I feel ambitious for 6 days. I'll do that for another week and go to another BarreAmped DVD, probably switch between BarreAmped bootcamp and BarreAmped cardio and then maybe back to TA Precision Toning and/or Mat Workout. The Barre workouts are really helping to slim the thighs and butt and the upper body workouts are really hitting the 'batwings' with just a 3 pound weight in each hand. I don't need big muscles, just slim and toned.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your experiences. 5 days a week is more realistic for me as well. Phyllis, did you do Tracy's cardio?
