Anyone over 59 doing Cathe?

My uncle and aunt have a youthful attitude towards life and have an interesting website. The URL is www.2young2retire . I hope that isn't too blatant of a plug, but they are dear, lovely people and are very into their website, so I thought I would pass it along to anyone who is interested.

I am 51 and started out with Power Max and Body Max. I now have all of Cathe's DVD's and have no problem getting through them. I have an Aunt who is in her sixties. She jumps rope and works out with her Total Gym and weights. She is in great shape. She surprised many at her school when she jump roped with the children. I have people look at me all of the time and ask if I work out and what I do. It is very rewarding.

Way to go Diane!! I also am 51 and I have been guessed younger.
I have no problem keeping up with the younger crowd in step classes, although I need to do alot more weights.

I am in better shape now than when I was in my 30's, but I didn't work out at all then. I agree with an earlier post who said how lucky the younger gals are to be staring this now! I wish there was a Cathe out there when I was younger.

You are so right Connie. If only we would have had Cathe when we were younger. I have been working out since before my 30's. Nothing like now though.

P.S. You women in your 50's and 60's are absolutely an inspiration!

I'm 51 and do Cathe a lot. Granted, I had to work up to her high impact stuff, but now I can do all of it except some of the floor parts of MIC.

I am careful. I don't do high impact every day, and if I feel a twinge somewhere I back off. There is no reason why you can't keep most of your conditioning as you grow older.

Hi Lisa Endgren!

Sorry to take so long to reply -- your post sort of got lost in the shuffle, I guess! But I wanted to say hi and welcome, and to let you know how much I enjoyed reading about your three boys. Stinky or not, they're a blast and it all goes by TOO fast!!

Now that you've officially emerged from lurking, let us hear from you!

Hey, wow, it must be just brutally cold when you go to work at midnight in a Minnesota winter! Brrrrrrr!!!!!!'

It would be nice if Cathe had a forum for the over forty or over fifty group. Lunges are such a problem for me because they involve bending my poor arthritic toes all the way forward. I always have pain in my feet for days after I do them, but I refuse to give them up. I ordered some glucosamine tablets which I'll start taking this week to see if they help. Anyone else have arthritis problems that interfere with exercising?

Hi Nancy!

I do not like to endorse supplements but Glucosamine/Chondroitin is ONE I do! I checked it out with my Dr. and she said it was fine. She said some have trouble with blood pressure going too high with supplements but mine is fine. I had a small finger that had what I believe was arthritis in one joint so bad it would kill if I even just bumped it slightly. I had it for a good year or so. Within 3-4 weeks of taking the G/C I noticed it was completely gone! Also, I feel a lot less aches and pains after staying on it regularly. My knees and back feel stronger. Just my experience. Good Luck!
