Anyone on Paxil.....

while pregnant? I have had to get on paxil since my son was 5 months old (now 3) and my husband and I want another one, but I am soooo afraid to get off my 30mg paxil. I had severe panic attachs. My old ob said it was fine to take while pregnant, but since it's in category C or D (can't remember) I am still skeptical. Anyone who is or have been on any antidepressent please share your experience with me. Thank you

Hey there - I'm on 20 mg of Prozac and am now 18 weeks pregnant. I think it's fine to continue. My midwife put me on it for PPD/Anxiety 6 months ago (wasn't sleeping hardly at all), and she said the benefits completely outweigh any risks. I'll have to tell ya, I'm not nearly as tired this time around. I have to guess it's the Prozac that's helping there.

I'm not one to over-medicate, but I'm glad I stayed on it. When you consider everything our mothers did while pregnant (mine, at least): smoking, drinking, wearing girdles, starving themselves to stay thinner - I'm thinking our babies will be fine!
