Anyone know when you must stop riding rides at amusemen...

Does anyone know when you must stop riding rides at an amusement park while pregnant? We have season passes and my daughter and I go quite frequently. We have not told her about the baby yet. Yesterday I had to claim an upset stomach and we had to ride the "little kid" rides. My daughter is 5 and is riding some spinning rides and some smaller roller coasters.

We also have a trip planned to Disney in Sept before my 1st doctor's appt and not sure if we will tell family yet. Both sets of grandparents and an aunt are going with us.

I may just put a call in to my doctor to ask before we leave.

Thanks!

Hello. I asked my midwife about this and she said that anything my son goes on I should be able to go on (he is 4). I just use common sense but basically I've stopped all "thrill rides" and anything that spins excessively or goes too fast (all the good rides) LOL My DH isn't much for amusement parks but this summer he's had to fill in for me.

I had my first appointment with my doctor before heading to Disney on my last pregnancy. He was pretty mellow about everything and said it all depended on how I was feeling. He did point out that warning signs would be all over the ride - Disney needs to cover their butts.

I basically did whatever my kids did, except the Tea Cups...which I hate when I'm not pregnant. The only reason I didn't do Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain was because I had to stay with the 2 year old while DH got to ride with the 4 year old. Aye!

Over at Animal Kingdom, it was the same story. The Safari has warning signs for pregnant woman but I didn't find it a problem at all. (Didn't try Dinosaur, so I can't comment on that. Too scary for my kids' age, I'm sure)

Obviously, it's not a good idea to do the hardcore thrill rides in MGM or Epcot.

If you want a better answer, you can go to Disboards.com and post your question. There are many experienced Disney vacationers who will give you far greater details.

Good luck and don't forget to kick your feet up on the Tomorrowland Transit Way at some point.

Oh my...I probably shouldn't even respond, but had to. My answer is ......until the safety restraint can no longer comfortably fit over your belly.

I'm a hardcore rollercoaster lover and when I was pregnant with my DD, about 4-5 months pregnant, I went on everything (we were at Great America in the Chicago area). We were delivering at home and my dh WAS my midwife and I looked at him and asked "can I go on it?" and he would respond..."it isn't any worse than the workouts you are currently doing". I had a blast and have no regrets, but keep in mind I was EXTREMELY active and never altered my routine while pregnant.

Briee (I also went down the water slides at the water park when I was three weeks OVER DUE with baby number 3. DISCLAIMER....I do not claim to be giving you advice....only ones experience.) If you want some GOOD advice....check with Autumn or Sheila!! ;-) ;-)
