Anyone have digital cable service?

Anyone have problems with having to wait for their tv to come on?? I turn it on sometimes and I can hear it clicking away and it takes forever to come on. Cable company sent out a technician who said it was my TV. I have a hard time believing this as it is a 2 year old TV and everything else is working perfectly. I don't want to spend money on a new TV to find out this is not the problem. I get the feeling ths signal is not communicating with my television. Any clever people out there that have any hints?

Sound to me like the box.. I have digital and we just got a new box for the upper bedroom and it would not come on then would then shut off and we would have to unplug it.Then it took a 1/2 hr to reboot so you had no guide. I called and demanded(nicely) a new box.Told them that thing was junk. It is a new design.
I rarely have trouble with the others. The dvr box had to be replaced once.
Hey it is expensive .My cable bill is 155 a month. I do expect it to work.

I have digital cable, internet, and now the telephone service. I hate the price, but DSL is not available in my area and dial up is so frustrating. Anyway, I don't have any trouble like you've described, maybe try unplugging for 5 minutes and then a new box if that doesn't work. Good luck!

We have the same problem and it IS the tv (a 3 year old Sony LCD Flat Screen). We know it's the tv and not the cable service because it happens whether we turn on the box or not. There are simply times that it comes on, clicks a few times, then turns back off. Most of the time it comes right on. Drives us crazy, but we have not taken it in for service yet. Our other Sony's are perfectly fine.

Thanks so much to all for your comments.

Do you happen to know what the problem with the TV might be?? I don't have a warranty I am wondering what would be more expensive...getting it serviced or buying a new TV. It's so hard to figure out because once it's on it's good as gold! I don't have the option of turning off the box to check as the box is somehow linked up to Dish which operates everthing. In other words if there is a power outage you get nothing just a black screen. I know when I just had regular cable and you had an outage you would get some sort of snowy picture. I guess I could always leave it on night and day.
