Anyone have a Wii?

Never been a big fan of video games but we just picked up a Wii and we're having so much fun with it. It comes with a sports game that includes tennis, boxing, bowling, baseball and golf. I actually broke into a sweat while boxing and tennis is a blast. I watched a clip on the evening news awhile back where senior living communities were using Wii's for exercise and the residents were really enjoying it.

Anyone else have one? If so, please pass along any suggestions for other fun games. Thanks!

JJ

My sister has one with those games, too! My nieces, who are in 1st and 3rd grade kicked my butt in tennis! It is so fun! (And, funny) I love it. The boxing is great

>>The boxing is great

BEWARE OF CHILDREN BEARING Wii GAMES...ESPECIALLY BOXING -- LMAO!!

Seriously, I'm nursing a tennis elbow, going on a month now, following ONE game of Wii boxing. I realize this probably isn't common, but HOLY WOW! -- my elbow was in bad shape.

DH and I have bowling competions...of course he kicks my butt eveytime, We work up a good sweat too! I like to "watch" my DH play the baseball game, something about his baseball stance lights my fire}( (which explains my interest in watching National league BB games w/DH}(,LOL )

Haha, yeah, we call it "Wii Arm" in this household, that soreness that you get after playing.

As for other games, try Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. It's a really fun and weird collection of short (maybe 10 second) mini games, and your kids would definitely love it. It's my favorite game on the Wii because it's so silly.

My husband just bought one on a whim, and I wasn't sure it was a great idea--it's alot of money--just think how many Cathe DVDs that is!

Anyways, we were wondering whether to keep it or return it. So, you guys are saying it's tons of fun ? so, we should keep it??

Ouch Michele! "Wii arm"....how funny but true!

I can totally understand. My shoulder was killing me after awhile. My kids just laugh at me because I tend to act out whatever sport I'm doing like moving back and forth while playing tennis or following thru when bowling. I tried an upper cut when boxing and hit myself in the chin. Apparantely I get into it too much:eek:

Anyway, it is still alot of fun. DS works at Best Buy and picked a second remote so we can play against eachother. Now we just need to get a few more games.

We have a Wii at our house and we don't even have any kids! It is a lot of fun. Just be sure you strap that remote onto your wrist securely. My sister-in-law nearly bowled the darn thing right into the TV!

Yes, we got ours 10 days ago and it is so much fun. I can't believe how sore I get from playing the games. My husband uses it as his exercise since he doesn't like workout DVD's.

We love ours! My husband and I do the boxing and really sweat! The kids love the Star Wars Lego games because they get to swing the lightsabers- it is really cool. We also like The Legend of Zelda, remember from WAY back? It's so fun to swing the sword and whack stuff! Tiger Woods Golf is a blast too. We have to move furniture to play that one.

Elebits!!!!!!! I stayed up until 2:30 AM once trying to beat a level.

It's a kid-friendly shooting game - very cute - but, you're not shooting to hurt/kill anything. Rather you're trying to capture little "electricity" creatures with the ray gun. The more power you acquire for your ray gun, the heavier objects you can pick up. You can totally trash a room, a kitchen, backyard and finally an amusement park (you can pick up carousels, teacup rides, all kinds of stuff).

Um, yeah, we love the Wii.

We have one. I HATE video games, or so I thought... This thing is FUN!

Mostly I like to do bowling. WOW your arm/shoulder really hurts the next day, but I win every game!:)
