anyone have a programmable crock pot?

I have a great crock pot, but if my someone isn't home at the desired time to turn it down, my meal is overdone. I'm looking at the Rival programmable 6 qt programmable with removalble crock. Any thoughts? Thanks. Phyllis

i have one and i love it! i think i got it at bed bath and beyond. it has settings for 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours. when it shuts off it goes to warm. HTH

I have it too, and it's great. As jes said, when the timer cycle is complete, it switches to keep warm mode. Just make sure you have enough liquid in it if it will be warming for a long time. I have had lentil soup dry out a bit when I had to leave it significantly longer than I planned.

You're welcome. Mine is a black and silver Rival SmartPot. I've had it for a few years now, so I'm not 100% positive about the price. I think it was either 29.99 or 39.99 (US) at Target. HTH

Another option:
If you love the crockpot you have, you may be able to turn it into a programmable one with a timer you can get at QVC or Amazon (look up "crockpot timer"). It works, at least, for all Rival crock pots. You plug the crockpot into the timer, and the timer into the wall, and it automatically turns it on after 2 hours or so (I'm not sure about the details).

I also have a Smartpot. My only warning is that it cooks REALLY fast!!
