Anyone have a baby jogger?

Seriously considering the purchase of Baby Jogger 3 w/21" tires. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this model, or any other baby jogger? I don't know too many runners w/baby's...so it's up to you guys and my intuition. ;-)

Hi Melanie,

My youngest is now 8 years old, but I used a baby jogger with him. Of course times have changed so much, but I would recommend a baby jogger if you run on a regular basis. Looks like Jory could ride a bike, rollerblade etc. with you and Justin. I would run with the baby in the jogger and my older sons would come along too on their rollerblades, bike, skateboard, scooter etc. Family time well spent.

Good luck,

Diana

Melanie,

This was one of my best purchases when DD was younger. I got an InStep, middle-of-the-road model I think. I believe I also got the 21 inch tires w/aluminum (light weight) frame. InStep is now owned by Pacific Cycle who gave very good customer service when I needed to replace the seat - unfortunate incident w/cat not wear & tear.

We live in the country on a dirt road, so mall walking was not an option for me. In fact, I have never been able to get DD to ride in a regular stroller. I used mine almost everyday, was so good to get out of the house, get some exercise, and usually put baby to sleep. Boy I wish she still fit in it - lol! Sold it to my neighbor, after 2 1/2 years of dirt roads, was still in great shape. I really don't think you have to buy the top of line to get decent quality.

Good luck, you will really enjoy it!

My husband bought me a baby jogger last year for my birthday, per my request. My son is currently 21 months old and I have always loved taking him and our cocker spaniel running in our subdivision. Parts of our subdivision is still under construction with gravel and dirt everywhere, but the baby jogger gave my son a smooth ride. I think mine is an InStep. My husband bought it at Target for about $90, and it is well worth every penny. It folds up pretty easily and is compact for a jogger. As soon as the weather turns a bit warmer I will be using it a lot more frequently.

There are two problems that I have with my baby jogger, but it can not be helped. My arms & shoulders fatigue pretty quickly from the weight of the jogger + baby, but I can live with that and acclimate over time. The other problem I have encountered is trying to make turns or curves on the sidewalk. It does not turn very smoothly so I try to stick to straight paths as much as possible.

Good luck making a choice. I absolutely love mine and the idea of spending so much quality time with my son.

Thanks for the input. I think I will go with the 24 inch wheels-- I mistyped earlier post. The Baby Jogger brand is very light--so maybe this won't bother my arms? Good ideas with having my 9yr old ride a bike or rollarblade along the side. I wonder if he could do a 6 mile jot on a bike? We like out in the country, so this stroller would be going up/down hills and through dirt as well. My grandma gave me $100 toward the purchase of one. She's so sweet!!

I'm planning on making a decision her in a day or so. It'd be awesome if someone has purchased the above model & can tell me what they think? I'm hoping it will fit in the cargo area of my Subaru Forester too...my son is in Little League in the summer, and I like to run for about an hour or so during his games (theyr'e 2 hours long).

Thanks again for the input. Keep it coming!!!
