Anyone else watch Cathe just when relaxing?

Sometimes in the evening I'll tune into FitTV while feeding my son. My husband is like, "why are we watching this???". Not that he dislikes Cathe or knows much about her in general, but finds watching fitness shows for the heck of it like watching paint dry...hehe :p .

You know what, a friend of mine and I used to do that when we were together. Not on Fit tv, but with my Cathe tapes or dvds. We would sit down and preview them over a few glasses of wine, and sit there and think, gee that move looks soo mard! Then the next day we would try out the video and sure enough the move did not kill us like we thought it would the night before! My husband thought we were crazy, but we had fun!

My fiance thinks I am nuts because I do that. I do it a lot when I get a new fitness DVD to get familiar with it. Sometimes if I am feeling sluggish I will watch my favirote part of the DVD I planned to do that day to get motivated to work out. When I first got the hardcores my fiance was like "didn't you already watch this one?". Of course I did but when I first got them I was so excited about them putting them in the DVD player was more entertaining than watching normal TV or a movie.

Yes, I do. My DH and DD think I'm "crazy"... They're right! Crazy about Cathe and working out!

LOL Debbie...I tend to agree with you DH to tell ya the truth...Previewing my vids before I do them can be torture for me! I love to do them but to watch them is sooo boring for me. I can handle the cardio better than the weights though if I have to choose....

I don't have FitTV, but it's funny you should post this:

What I do is sling in either I-Max 2 Interval 6 (my beloved Straddle Tap interval with that pnemonic song "Rainmaker") or I-max 3 Interval 7 (my beloved multi-level jacks with an even more pnemonic instrumental song) in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. The music in each of these stays in my head all day long, and just watching Cathe & Crew going for it helps pump ME up for the rigors of the day.

Plus, I get such a kick out of Cathe And The Gang in that I-max 3 interval: Cedie is chirping in with her "All-right" and "WHEEEEE" riff, and Cathe at the end says, "That was hard *pant pant* but not as hard as it could've been, so we're movin' on!"

I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses Cathe as life background wallpaper!

No, I never do this while relaxing. I preview a workout I have either never done or not done for over a year, as I drink a cup of tea, right before I then attempt it. But it is not to relax! I have plenty of other things to do for that!!!!!!

I agree with Annette: Imax 3, Interval 7 is the best. It rocks! Could do it all day.....

I definitely do it when I get new workouts and want to preview them. What a pleasure! Just sitting on my totally relaxed butt, watching a new Cathe, under absolutely no obligation to move at all. Maybe even with a glass of wine...

But of course, this only happens once a year, that's why it's so spay-shull. (That was NC talk.)

That's weird. While I never have previewed a W/O before doing it, I have been known to flop on the couch & watch her on Fit TV even though I have all her W/O & have done them all. DH thinks I'm weird too.

If I didn't live in the armpit of the universe and we HAD fitTV, I would watch her all the time. Easier to get a handle on form and etc, when you aren't DOING a workout, and I just like the esthetics of fitness. My dh would say the same thing. It would make him feel guilty that he wasn't working out. Hehheeee.:7

I don't watch FitTV, but I will sit and watch my various workout DVDs on my laptop computer, while watching tv in the living room. LOL! Occasionally, I'll show DH what Cathe's doing in the workout and say something like "Wow! Look at what she's doing there! I wish I could do that!" And he looks at me like "Well, sitting in the recliner just watching her ain't gonna help you be able to do that!" LOL!

But I also find that just watching the videos kind of gets me pumped about actually doing them. I watch them in the evenings and then in the morning, when my alarm goes off at 4:45, I feel a lot more motivated to get out of bed and do it. I don't really know why, but it does help me. :)

I am going to have to watch FitTV more often. DH will really think I've gone off the deep end. Hee hee! :D
