Anyone else got dumped with snow???

Hello Friends of the Forum.

As I sit here waiting to confirm my church has cancelled, I'm wondering who else got the massive snow storm from sat/sun.
If you did get the white stuff, please share how much and where do you live at.
Thanks.

Shoveling does count as a workout. Working out with Cathe just makes it easier.

BTW, I'm in Grand Rapids MI, about 2 hours north of Chicago, 2 hours east of Detroit, about one hour east of Lake MI..

Enjoy your Day!

Near Champaign Illinois. Looks like it has stopped and they say 6 to 8, but it is hard to tell. Down here, it is the winds that do the damage. Right now they are about 23 mph, which honestly is mild for this area. It is suppose to pick up and drift. Later I will be doing the shoveling exercise thing.

Hi, I live in Port Huron, MI. About 3 hrs from you, (Grand Rapids.) It is coming down pretty good. Unfortunately my son's birthday party was supposed to be today at Skate Port but I'm thinking it's going to be cancelled. :( On a better note, I finally got a snow blower this year and it is going to be put into good use.;-)

Man, I'm so jealous. We hardly ever get snow here (Portland, OR), but there is much excitement when we do.

I've never had a white Christmas....sniff....:-(

Seriously, I hope your homes are warm and that you are able to get to where you need to go and that your electricity doesn't go out. Stay safe.

Maggie:)

I live in Manhattan Kansas and I believe we recieved 5 inches. I shoveled yesterday and with the ice underneath it made it even harder. Today I get to clean up the tree branches they cut down to get the power back up.

Looks like 8 inches and I sent DH out to shovel. They are finally sending a plow down our road, which is good cause DS needs to get to work.

It is winter, it does happen, but the winds get bad and 3 inches of snow can shut everything down. Nothing to stop it out here on the prairie. Flattest place on earth I sometimes think.

I got about 4 inches. I'm about 45 mins SW of Chicago. Wet and heavy, did the shoveling bit this morning. Hubby is out snowplowing and I would feel bad if he had to come home and shovel after being up at 330 this morning. I don't mind shoveling, its a good workout, I actually like the cold and the snow. The Christmas lights look pretty in it as well and gets me in the holiday mood. Last year it was like 50 and sunny on Christmas - YECH!!! However about February it gets a bit old. I also built a snow fort and a small snow man with DS this morn. Then coffee and cocoa YUMMERS!!

In Southeast WI here, we were only supposed to get 1 -3 , but ended up with Winter Storm warning and 7 inches!

I'm in Springfield, IL & we received right around 8 inches of snow & let me tell ya, it's heavy!!!

My workout today was Drill Max followed by an hour of heavy snow lifting, think I'll treat myself to a Sunday cocktail, LOL!

Yeah we got dumped on. Can't tell you how much, I'm no good at estimating. Any amount of snow is, in my opinion, far too much. Grrrrr! Hate it!!!! x( It is enough to be mucking up the roads and it is bloody freezing out there. Roll on May......sigh.

Yep, another midwesterner here w/ about 6" of snow. My kiddos have been having a blast, here's a pic of my front yard w/ my girls!

Our church was cancelled last Sunday because of ice storms, I'll take the snow any day over the freezing rain!!

Hi,

I live in Fairmont WV and we got snow, but it wasn't much. I was really surprised because I figured it would be more. Of course, we have a storm warning until tomorrow at 4 am, so I figure it will wait until 3 am to start a hideous copious down pouring that will make my morning commute impossible - haha!

:)

Hi,

In Toronto we got almost half 40cm.!!! Some care that were parked on the side of the road are completely covered!!! Good luck to the people that have to bury them out!

We live just north of Ann Arbor,Michigan and I believe our final total was 11.5 inches. Although we have a snow drift up the front steps that is 18 inches the last time the kiddos measured it.

Southeast Wisconsin too - since the beginning of December, we've hit just about 30 inches of snow. There's nowhere to throw it anymore and my poor dog is having a tough time doing his business out there! It sounds like we may have a repeat next weekend depending on how far north the next one moves . . . and it's not even officially winter yet!

My relatives & family in Maine got dumped with snow!!

No snow in North Carolina
boo hoo, sniffle sniffle

I miss Maine, the good looking snow covered pine trees.

I hope everyone enjoys their snow.
