Anyone carve out their pumpkins yet?

Well it is raining here. A cold rain and do you think I feel like going out grabbing those wet pumpkins and carving them??? Not really. Just wondering if anyone else has theirs done yet.

Yep...Every year we get together with the neighbors and have a big pumpkin' carvin' party...LOTS of chili, LOTS of beer and kids everywhere...and yes, the kids drink beer, too...ROOT beer! This little shindig takes place at our house down in the shop...We pick up pumpkin seeds 'till around New Years!!

I've been wondering when I'll get the chance to do this. So, no I haven't.

Will they keep until Halloween if I carve them this early? Last year I got up at 4A on Halloween and carved three pumpkins. I do NOT want to do that again. My kids get stencils off the computer, so I did one princess, one Mickey Mouse, and I already forgot what the last one was. Geez, whatever happened to triangle eyes, circle nose and a pumpkin mouth?!

Have fun carving!

LOL Dallas! We stick with the basics here. The boys always have to do their own so we cannot get too many different lines on there. The boys carved theirs this past Wednesday while I had Bunko. They went to Grandmas. Less mess for me to clean up! :7

dh and i did one this week. it was fun and something to do together, plus, neither of us had ever done that before. we will do it every year from now on. it helped that it was really pretty outside though;-) the past couple nights have been great and we have gone out and lit it up to enjoy a glass of wine.

*Sigh* I live in Florida. We can't carve them until the 31st because with our heat and humidity they grow "black fuzz" and attract little fyling critters in one day. Its still fun, though.

We're going to carve ours this weekend. I usually like having them done earlier than this, but this year we've both been way too busy. We do the fancy pumpkins with the patterns you buy in the books. I love those. They take forever, but they're worth it when everyone sees them and goes "ooooooo!" and "aaaaaaahhhhh!" and says, "Cool pumpkins!" We're going to do a grim reaper with a "shadow" of it's scythe on the back; and another pumpkin carved with rats and a shadow of a cat on the back. I'm not sure about the other two pumpkins: We've got some other fun patterns to choose from and haven't decided on those, yet.

Haven't done it yet. Probably Sunday, since DH has the day off. He likes to carve the intricate ones. He's already searching for The Right Design...

I'll let/make him carve his (yes he did get a 30 POUND PUMPKIN for himself), and Gracie's, and George's. I'll take all those seeds and roast them (yum!!) and if I feel like doing mine, I'm doing triangle eyes. And a big grin with one tooth!! :)
