Anybody buy a stability ball from Sports Authority

I'm not very happy with it compared to the quality of balls they have at the gym. It's impossible to keep it full of air unless I'm doing something wrong. Anybody else buy one from there?

No. But I got my first ball from Walmart. My new ball is from a site (can't remember now) that I think KathyH posted about? Well, it is a professional fitness ball and let me tell you...the difference in material and quality is outstanding! This new ball (red) is (Thera Band?) firm and nice and is made from thick plastic. Sorry I can't really tell you where to get it!

Hi there!
I just purchased a stability ball this afternoon from Fitness Wholesale (www.fitnesswholesale.com). It's a Thera-Band ball and it's excellent. We use them at the rec center where I teach. I bought it to replace one I got a few years ago which is softer. The firmer stability balls are much better and safer to use.

Just FYI: I bought the Original Thera-Band ball. The newer burst resistant, slow-deflate ball is rock hard! The original is medium hard. I was going for the slow-deflate one but opted for the original after they let me compare the two (I live close by their warehouse). Clubs are going for the harder, burst-resistant ones for liability issues.

There's a stability ball comparison chart at www.bodytrends.com that might be helpful in comparing brands however Thera-Brand isn't on that list.

Hope this is helpful! Diana

Diana! That's where I got mine from! Fitnesswholesalers...It is a wonderful ball, tight and firm and of really good quality. I am so glad I purchased it.

I did not buy mine from Sports Authority..oh yeah, I did...one of mine. Yeah, it sucked. I went on the net and got an industrial type ball..called the Swiss ball. It was 37.00 before shipping but very durable and burst resistant. I suggest you check out the more durable products on the net. I believe it has to do with the material they are made out of. Duraball is also excellent....

Oh boy... yes I bought my first stability ball from Sports Authority and that was a huge mistake. I found that it didn't retain it's air for even 5 minutes. Very dissapointed! I have just ordered a ball from Collage video and hope that will be MUCH better...

I bought mine a K-Mart. I can't remember the brand, but it is silver in color. I am very happy with it. It is only $14.99, but I got mine when it was on special for $8.88.

Wow great links everyone.. so sounds like NO to Sports Authority... I despise that store always have... at least the one where I live. I like my small sports store where they REALLY know about what they sell!

What size do you guys have .. i'm 5 2 112ish... sounds like 55?

thx

Yes Robyn!

The 55cm is a good size for your height. I got my ball from Power Systems (like Cathe's) but have bought balls for friends at Fitness Wholesale and they BOTH are great! Good Luck!
