Any other Harry Potter book fans? Conflict with road trip...

I just realized that the book release for Book #6 (HP and the Half-Blood Prince) is July 16! Same weekend as the Cathe road trip. I was going to go to the midnight release party and everything (my first midnight release party ever, I was really psyched about it - I'm such a Harry Potter geek). But now, I guess I'll have to miss the book release.

I'll get to meet Cathe though, and that's WAY cooler.

And I'll still have one more chance to go to a HP book release party.

Where in Illinois are you from? I'm from Alton, Illinois (30 mins from St Louis). I love the HP books also. I've got mine pre-ordered to get the 40% discount. I would love to go on the road trip but am scared to death to fly (only did it once and hated it!!). But I'd get to meet Cathe and the other Cathe fans.

Hi Kimbra - yeah I preordered my HP book too at the 40% discount. I will have to have DH pick it up for me while I'm on the road trip.

I'm in central Illinois - near Peoria. I plan to fly out of Peoria Regional Airport. Flying's not a big deal for me, but I've flown a LOT in my life, so I'm kind of used to it. I will admit that I like large planes way more than those little commuter jets - and pretty much all that flies out of Peoria are commuter jets. It looks like I'll have to fly from Peoria to Chicago, then catch a larger plane from Chicago to Philly. Since you're close to St Louis, you can probably get a direct flight from St Louis to Philly - which would be faster and probably cheaper. That is, if you can muster up the nerve to fly. Come on - it's for Cathe - you can do it!

I'll have to talk to my husband and see. We haven't planned a vacation yet this year for financial reasons so that would be the only thing stopping me.
