Any knitters in the house?

RE: P.S. for Shelley

No coincidence at all. Licorice is evil therefore the hat is an appropriate accessory!

(Disclaimer: The content of this post is solely the opinion of the poster. The moral orientation of licorice has yet to be substantiated.)

Bunbun-

That's a great looking cardigan! Thanks for the Rowan link. I've seen their yarns but hadn't seen any patterns from them. I don't know if you like knotwork type cables, but if you do, here's a link with some info about Elsebeth Lavold (a great designer). I've made some smaller things with her patterns (bigger projects are out of my budget!). http://www.ingenkonst.se/textile.htm

What about licorice WHIPS? I mean, come on. Many pictures of Satan show him with a whip. Perhaps it's a licorice whip. I certainly see a correlation there.}(

Bunbun, that cardigan is gorgeous. And what a cool lampshade idea!

I just learned to knit this winter/spring! I used to know when I was little because I had an aunt who taught me to do a bit of everything. I sew like crazy, I can crochet, I can do embroidery but for some reason the knitting fell out of my brain. I tried many times over the last five years with a variety of books too.

Finally a co-worker of my husband's showed me how. I am addicted and have made a ton of scarves for my kids and I am working on an afghan for me and my honey bunny to snuggle with.

Dani53 - I just noticed you live in Truckee....I live in Gardnerville down the road from you...what a small world!! Pam

I used to knit all the time. Knit everywhere I went. Knit while I watched tv, read books etc. Just this last year I can't seem to find the time. I'm sure I'll pick it up again when I have a little more time. I personally love Debbie Bliss stuff althouth the price of her yarns are out of this world. I was picking up yarn ends off ebay from...oh gee I can't remember the place - Mission something. Great yarn for much cheaper.

Groan...aren't bad puns forbidden on this forum? ;)

<<Knit while I watched tv, read books >>

I'm still trying to figure out how to knit and read...I lose count if I'm doing anything complicated. Or even if not!

Sorry I can't help you out on this one...I don't knit. But my aunt knits like a crazy woman! lol She made me 2 sweaters with matching hats for my son along with another separate hat to be worn right after he's born. She loves to knit kids clothing. My mom still has stuff that she made for me and my sister when we were little! In fact, I think she gave some of it to my sister for her kids when she started her family...

I don't know websites here but have enjoyed knitting since I was 8 years old. I have started my grand daughter knitting recently and my daughter has started back into it. I taught her when she was young. Mostly I have knitted blankets and mittens with tulips and other patterns in them. I had several different tutors :) My grandmother and I traded off, me helping her to learn to knit and her helping me to crochet. A very good hobbie that keeps me busy while watching television instead of snacking. I really did not realize that there were so many into knitting. I think it is a great hobbie.
