Any beginners / beginners-intermediate Cathe fans out there...

What workouts did you start out with? And which ones did you progress to?

I am currently doing Cathe's beginner rotation and would like to know where to go from there. Any ideas?

Hey there! I started with All Step because I got a deal on it at Ebay--what a mistake! I did finally get the moves down and wanted more. I went backwards and got the Basic Step/Body Fusion and Low Impact Step. I got bored with those pretty easy and read here that Cathe's older workouts are good to start with because she breaks the moves down more and repeats them more. I got Step Heat and Power Max and love them both! I can now get through Step Blast (although it's tough!) I was able to catch onto the moves easier this way. I would recommend you pick up these two videos or the Classics or Cardio Hits DVD.

Thank you! Do these that you suggested also include weight training? I was to get into a balanced routine of cardio and weights. I have already lost 15 lbs and want to lose another 15 lbs and to tone.

Thanks again!

Nope. Those are all pure step workouts. The only strength training DVD I have is Push-Pull/Supersets. It's good for toning, I think--but probably not any real muscle buidling unless you used really heavy weights. I have also done Power Hour off of Fit TV and like it a lot.

If I were you, I think I'd just get Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance (in addition to one of the early step DVDs)--Boot Camp is a circuit workout with both cardio and weight segments. Muscle Endurance is a total body weight workout. It's so hard to pick one--Cathe has so many and they're all good!:)

Here is the list of workouts that I purchased last week:

Total Cardio/Basic Step/Low Impact Step/Body Fusion
Total Body Sculpting/Stability Ball-Abs
Total Body Stretching
Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance
Power Hour/MIS/Body Max

I started (again), with the oldest Cathe's and then proceeded with her newer ones. Then it clicked, I can do the newer ones. Hope this helps, Annette
