Any 40's Out There?

Where have all the 40's gone?

I must admit, last week was crazy for me and the week before I was on vacation. Anybody else back to the daily grind besides me?

Anyway, I on my jumprope kick again. Who knew jumping rope would be such work? It seemed easy when we were kids!

Hey, Murphy, I'm here! We are finally getting settled back into the school routine, so things should get back to normal here too! Today I did the BC/ME combo, don't know what I was thinking! I'm just glad it is done! Murphy, my DH jumps rope a lot! That is a pretty intense w/o, have you ever tried Micheal Olajide? He has some good jump roping w/o's. Hi to everyone else, I have some work that I have been avoiding. Have a good day! Mary

Mary - BC/ME combo? I am tired just thinking about it. Does that mean I can skip a workout? :) Yes, I have Michael Olajidae - 3 of them. I only use his and his C.T.B.S. is crazy. I feel it and it works, but the man is a little crazy.

Hello everyone!

I'm back! Had a fantastic holiday in France - we got back last weekend. The weather was lovely and I came back tanned and relaxed.
Then I was at home with DD for most of the week and we just spent the weekend visiting friends so I haven't really been around. I feel really out of the loop.

Had quite a break from exercise as well. So I'm starting to crank up again. I'm going to a kettlebell taster session tonight. It's an 8 week course, 2 30 min sessions a week. It's quite expensive so I'm going to go along and see whether I like it before spending any money!

Murph - like the sound of the skipping! You really mix up your workouts, it's great.

Mary - I've done that BC/ME combo and it is a killer. Not one I'll be revisiting in the near future.

Anyway, DD's back at school on Thursday so I should have some more computer time soon.

Hope all is well with all the 40s gals!

Hi All,

For some reason I am not feeling Cathe this week. I am planning a hard day, easy day alternating thing. Tracie Long's stuff will be my "easy" days. Running/jogging or jumprope will be my hard days. Anyone else use Tracie Long? She is supposed to be coming out with some new stuff the end of the year but I cannot get much info on it. Anyone know anything?

Ronne - France? Glad you had a great time. I am so jealous.

Hi girls! Hope everyone is having a good day! Ronne, how was France? What part did you go to? I have never been anywhere in Europe, so I am living vicariously through you! I am going to a kettlebell class tomorrow, I have never tried it, I am a little nervous! Hope yours goes well! Let us know. Hi to you Murphy, I had read about Tracie Long somewhere, I heard the new discs would be out in Dec., ( I could be totally wrong tho!) I didn't read much what they would be like tho. Today I did Imax extreme from the Terminator, I don't know why I am into punishing myself lately! Well, need to get some lunch and wait for the bus. Talk to you tomorrow! Mary

Hi All,

Today I jumped ship on Tracie Long and went power walking. It was nice and now I am tired. I hope the weather stays pleasant for a bit longer, I prefer outdoor activities. But, back to the indoor for tomorrow's workout.

Mary - how do you like the terminator? I was going to buy it but it looks a bit...crazy. Good crazy, Cathe crazy.

Hi everyone

Mary - we went to the Vendée, north west France. Very beautiful countryside and great beaches. How did your kettlebell class go? Did you enjoy it?
I was the only one who turned up to the free taster session I went to, so ended up getting a personal training session for an hour! There's a lot of technique to learn isn't there?

Murph - how's the family? No illnesses at the moment? Sounds like you're all healthy!

DD went back to school today. I must admit I was a bit sad. I don't like the end of the summer holidays. We've had a great 6 weeks and I'll miss her!
Today I did the UB mix from Amy's Slo Mo and the no equipment abs from STS. Never done that one before, it was tough on these out of shape abs!

Bye for now!

Hi all,

The word of the day is Lazy! I woke up in time but just did not get out of bed. No reason, just did not want to do anything. I really don't like doing that b/c I have so many unplanned rest days. Oh well, what is done is done. Better luck to all of you.

Ronne - don't jinx me! Things are okay for right now. I just got a flu shot and I am getting the one for the kids in a few weeks. I know it is early, but we usually get them during the height of the season so this time I am trying a new tactic. Wish me luck.

Hi, girls!

I'm baaaack... now that the kids are back in school, I have a tiny bit of free time for myself. (And I do mean tiny!)

I'm 2/3 through STS (again), finishing Meso 2 this week. DH wanted to repeat it after we finished the first time in June. However, he insists on lifting too heavy and has injured himself twice, so he's dropped out the last two weeks.

I promise I'll get back to checking in faithfully. I've missed hearing from all of my workout friends, as I have none in the "real" world!

Kathryn, so glad to see you back! We have missed you terribly! How does your daughter like her new school? Is it going well? I am waiting to do STS again (6 month) when the STS cardio arrives! Ronne, the kettlebells were interesting, a little sore today, only 4 of us in the class, I was the only 1st timer, so she helped me a lot. I think I will try it again, it was so different from what I normally do! Murphy, are you still lazy? (today?) I don't know when I will w/o today, maybe a walk when DS goes to cross country! LIsa, Andrea, where are they? Anyway hello to all! Kathryn we have missed your smiling face! Mary

TGIF (and a long weekend ahead)!

I finished Meso 2 this morning, and I am so looking forward to a week off. Well, not really off from exercise, but off from STS.

Mary, thanks for the note. DD got off to a rocky start at the new school (which started Aug. 10). Her teacher wasn't a good fit, her class was huge, she didn't know anybody, and the math was too easy for her.

However, DH managed to get her switched. She started yesterday in a smaller class with two fully accredited teachers (both of whom are wonderful), and she's been moved to an advanced math class with another teacher who seems wonderful. I am hoping that she'll be happier and start making some friends. But she's hanging in there, adapting as best she can. Thank you for asking.

Mary, you're trying kettlebells? I really like(d) kettlebells, but haven't done a real KB workout since starting STS in February. I did give my sister a couple of KB workout videos to try. She's gotten very heavy and out of shape. She has very little time, money, or space, so I think this will be good for her. I look forward to starting again after I finish STS in five weeks.

Murphy, you got the flu shot already? I'm afraid to get the flu shot. Every time I do, I immediately come down with something awful. Last year I got pneumonia right after the flu shot. The year before I got a pneumonia shot and came down with laryngitis. It really is always something.

Ronne, France? I've never been. In all my years of travel (my father was a commercial airline pilot), I never made it to France. Someday...

By the way, if anybody is considering the new-ish Amy Bento kickbox workout called Kickbox Surge, I highly recommend it. I had pre-ordered it and forgotten. When it was released, I previewed it and decided I didn't want it. (I was surprised when it arrived anyway!) I'm glad I got it because it's a lot of fun -- very challenging but much easier to learn that Kickbox Xtreme was.

Anyway, I have to get to work. Have a great day, everyone!
