Anti-wrinkle cream

At the age of almost 36 (African American female), I have developed a wrinkle in the top of my forehead. Any suggestions for a cream that has worked for you. I doubt the wrinkle will ever go totally away , but I would like to try a product that may help prevent more wrinkles early on or make the current one less visible. Any suggestions?

The only thing that works at all for wrinkle removal is RetinA and Renova type things. Or you can get a Botox injection. For dry skin, it depends, there are lots of things to try and like icklemoley says, sunscreen and lot of water, sleep, exercise and healthy food are the best preventions.

Yep, Retin-A and sunscreen all year round work for me well. But Retin-A works on only those superficial fine lines. And since I have super oily skin, sunscreen during the summer only makes my face oilier. So I use light make-up with a high SPF, like Neutrogena.

The wrinkle that comes from a sagging muscle will have to be Botoxed or lifted surgically. I'm starting to have one of these too.}( Haven't talked to my dermatologist about it yet because acne remains our biggest challenge. You might want to go to one. If you can't erase the wrinkle, you can prevent new ones, at least.:)

Thanks for your replies. Greatly appreciated. The wrinkle isn't that bad, but I definitely want to prevent new ones.

Yeah, I'd like to hear from someone who's tried the new L'Oreal wrinkle cream... can't remember the name...

It's supposed to be formulated especially for expression lines...

I have been using L'oreals Wrinkle De-Crease for over 5 months now and LOVE IT. I use it twice a day specifically on my forehead and those tiny lines have diminished. For the rest of my face I use Nivea Q-10 since I tried L'oreal on the rest of my face and broke out. Weird, but maybe it will work for others in the entire face.

My mother in law has been using the Avon Anew line for a while now and says that she had faint lines along her upper lip that are now gone, as well as a the laugh lines along her mouth and around her eyes. So, maybe that will work to at least thin out the line and prevent new ones from forming. for me I am just trying to prevent getting any, even though I know that age is inevitable, but if I can ward it off for as long as possible I will! I do have a few laugh lines around my eyes when I smile though. Oh well!

The clinic I worked for (vein clinic and medical spa) sold Kinerase and it is the most wonderful facial product I've ever used! Anyone we gave samples to came back and bought it. It is a different type of product than retina or the retinols. It is extracted from a plant. Not harsh and does not make your skin peel. You can buy a cream or lotion, depending on if you have oily skin or not. It's very very safe and few people have skin irritations/reactions to it. It's also pretty pricey, but worth the money. I've seen it on ebay but not sure it's the "real"product. You usually have to get it from a dermatologist or doctors office. Not just anyone can sell it. I also really liked the "Apha" products from "exCell Pharmaceuticals". They can give you the name and number of a Dr. who carries the products in your area. They are mild, feel wonderful, and have made a tremendous difference in my little lines and wrinkles. (I should be selling their products for them, right?)

We also did Botox treatments at the clinic and I've had one on that forehead wrinkle (the Dr. told me mine was the strongest frown muscle she's ever since - not good!) It did work well, but only lasted about 2 months for me. I had no side effects (usually head ache or eye droop) If I was still working there I might consider it, since I got a great discount, but I find it hard to fork over $300-$500 every few months for Botox.

Hope this helps. You might ask a dermatologist in your area if they have samples of anything you can try.

I have been using the total effects by oil of olay and really like it a lot. It is kind of expensive. I want to try nivea, I love the body lotion. I also wear loreal face make up and it has sunscreen.

I use lots of sun screen. Avoiding the sun is the best preventive you will ever get. I regret the years I lived in Arizona as a teenager and tanned without sunscreen. I just used baby oil. Also facial expressions that are habitual may leave wrinkles. It depends on how much character that you want to have. I think some lines and maturity show your character as opposed to people who have a stiff look due to to much help to avoid it. Hope I have not gotten out of line here as I am more than willing to get some help.

A couple of years ago I bought this night cream from L'Oreal Plentitude line. It was for night time only and it said in the direction to use no more than 3 times a week. This stuff was GREAT! My skin looked perfect when I got up in the morning. It would always surprise me when I first looked in the mirror. My skin really look flawless.

When it ran out, I went to buy some more and it looks like they no longer make the stuff. I've been looking for two years in the stores, on the internet and I still can't find it. It was in a small, heavy, blue container. I don't remember what it's specific name was just that it was part of their 'Plentitude' line. I haven't been able to find anything that works as good as that stuff did. I've tried about five of L'Oreal's face creams and hate them all.

I'm kind of up in arms because there are just too many face creams out their and I hate wasting money on something that does nothing for me. :(

Actually, I ended up buying total effects. I have been using it for about one month now and I like it. I just said this week that I can tell the difference in the expression line on my forehead. I do like the product.
