Another Spears baby...

i just read that Britney Spears' sister, Jamie, is pregnant. she's SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

apparently, she's on a nikelodeon show and it's a pretty big hit for the teen set.

what a (*insert sarcastic tone here*) great example to set for other teens!

i think it's just awful. hopefully, the kids that look up to her will not after this. wonder if we'll see a rise in teen pregnancies?
 
My DS watches Zoe101. I thought that she was different from her big sis. I read that this morning and thought to myself, "Why in the h@ll does a 16 yr old have a live in boyfriend.

I saw this last night and immediately shook my head in dismay. There are so many ways NOT to get pregnant. Seems these Spears girls only got the sex education practicum and skipped the theory.....My three teenage Girls are as disgusted by this as I am.

She lives with her BF? Why would a parent allow that? That is really weird at such a young age. Suprise suprise she is pregnant now.

It is SO EASY NOT to get pregnant. This is pure ignorance (and laziness) on Jamie Lynn's part. And what is this I hear about her having a live-in boyfriend?!?!?!?!?

Someone put these kids in a nunnery or somethin'....

Okay, the funny part, (not funny ha ha... LOL) is that I heard mama Spears is releasing a "Parenting Book"???!! Is the publisher on something? If we all took direction from her, my gosh!
 
The release of the book is now being "delayed." I'm sure the Nick show will be dropped, too. I hate to say it, but the trash doesn't fall far from the trailer, huh?
 
I know, I'm rather disappointed in her. My 7 year old absolutely loves this show. She put together a list of her favorite shows the other day and Zoey 101 was #1, even above Hannah Montana. Jamie Lynn seems such a nice girl, too. Though I've seen a bit of attitude when dealing with the media. Of course, with the way they hound her sister, you could see where she'd be a bit touchy.

It will be interesting to see how Nickelodeon handles this.
 
This whole family just saddens me. There are SO many issues, beginning with the parents upbringing, that have just carried on to the sisters. When all you have done is exist in chaos, you stick to what is familiar. I truly hope this family gets the help they need and can break this cycle, especially because there are very young children at stake.

As soon as I heard this, I started thinking again about how sex ed should be taught in schools. Here in Escambia county Florida, only abstinence is taught. No condoms, no birth control, no nothing. It is a farce! Kids are hitting puberty earlier and their hormones are raging. Sex will happen. I just hope parents will give their children the ways to have it safely, including the new cervical cancer vaccine.
 
The big question really is why does anybody think this huge error of judgement is worthy of being in the national news? I don't understand it, it's not as if it were included as a cautionary tale.

Get rid of the Spears' already.

actually, my local news did speak about it in a cautionary way. they were saying that this would make for a good opening to discuss sex ed with your kids. i think that's the only good thing about it. it gives parents a chance to show what NOT to be like.

i hope the entertainment media does not glorify it in any way. a sixteen year old is a child and should not be having a child.

Well...being a teenage mother myself, Im not sure how one could blame her parents for this happening. Sure, she shouldn't have been living with her boyfriend but with money comes independence. It doesn't matter if she was living with him or not, she would have gotten pregnant regardless. I know that my upbringing had nothing to do with that fact that I got pregnant at 16...not so sure we can blame her mom here. Im sure she hasn't been the best roll model but teenagers have sex, there are alot of raging hormones during this time.
Who I do feel bad for is the babies of this family.I had sense enough to put my child first and b/c of this my life turned out just fine. But for alot of people it doesn't..they continue to reproduce. Their partying and social activities seem to be the highlight of their life, not the little joys they have been blessed to have. Leaves you wondering..who is actually raising these kids?
