Another school shooting

I just saw on MSNBC that there was another school shooting today. This one was in Pennsylvania. What is going on with this world? This is the third one that I have heard of in 2 weeks. First Colorado, then Wisconsin and now Pennsylvia. Prayers to all those affected.

From what I read it was at an Amish school that only had 27 students....

We live only 30 minutes from where this happen. It's scarey to think
its so close. You always think of it being in a big city somewhere
not in a very rural community that if you blink your eyes you are through it. It's all farm lands on that end of the county and there are alot of amish people. This was a one room school house with 29 children. The boys were left go 15 of them and the girls were tied up and shot exacution style. 6 have died and 7 are in critical condition
the teacher got out along with 2 other ladies. The guy who did it was 32 and left suicide notes to his family. He took his own life.

The terror that these innocent little children must have gone through is unimaginable, it really brings tears to my eyes. Prayers go out to them.

I grew up in that county and I'm stunned that an Amish commnunity, who avoid guns, violence and all things modern, is under going this. I guess it goes to show that no one is immune and no one, regardless of beliefs and life style can avoid it. It's so sad.
 
I'm speechless. This is so sad, random, and pointless. I feel so terrible for those poor people, the victims and their families, who have to somehow endure this pain. There's nothing that can take it away, no justice for these victims. It's so disgusting that someone can imagine, let alone act, on such evil acts. Why is it that our culture seems to be producing more and more of this horrific violence? It also strikes me that often it seems to be directed against women and girls. So sad.

I am just in tears as I read this. What in the world is going on with these crazy people in our world?! How can you hurt innocent children!!
 
My family and I were just in the Lancaster area in August and bought furniture from an Amish family that had two little girls. The thought that those adorable kids could possibly have been part of this is more than I can think about!

Prayers go out to everyone, everywhere! This is a crazy world!
 
I just keep asking myself WHY ARE PEOPLE SO ANGRY? What is happening in this country that is pushing people over the edge???? I especially ask this when I hear of chilren w/ guns/knives/beatings... We just seem to be a very angry and frustrated nation. I am so saddened
 
This is very sad indeed.

Does it make anyone wonder about all the "entertainment" out there that alludes to this ? All those stupid 'Jason' movies and extremely violent video games ???? When did this become 'entertainment?" It is sad to think these types of entertainment make money.

I've been saying for years that I don't understand how people can watch the violence we see on our televisions, movies, internet, and video games and call it entertainment! I am not entertained by watching someone die, and I'm truly surprised at the number of my friends, family members, co-workers, etc. who really seem to be entertained by watching someone die, and preferably in the most tortuous way possible. People say "it's not real, don't get so worked up about it," but I guess I just don't see it the same way they do.

I'm with you as well.... TV shows on now that are violet war type... I say HELLO! We are in a real war ... just watch the news if you want morbid gory TV! I think as a country we have de-sensitized ourselves over the years and we are seeing what happens when we do that.
 
The "perp" cited an incident 20 years ago that a few people seem to know. Not that it would justify anything but trying to put the incidents together. Was this guy an Amish person that left the community?

Why would anyone pick on the Amish?

I just got the following CNN email update about this so called "incident:"

Police say that the man who shot children at an Amish school told
his wife that he had molested young family members 20 years ago.

So he kills little girls b/c he can't control his own disgusting urges? I wish this guy had lived & went to jail--I hear child molesters get treated very well in prison. And it would be nothing less than he deserves. Death is way too good for him.
 
Lauramax, I totally agree that death is too good for him! I wish he could suffer endlessly!

I don't understand this at all. He molested so now he kills? I could never understand his actions, however, it would seem more logical if he had been molested by a female and now wanted revenge.

I am so scared for my children. I didn't even sleep last night. They are at awesome schools but who knows what some freak will do.
 
I don't live too far from this area. From what my news station has said is it was a 20 year grudge "against little girls". He picked this school because it was the easiest accessible. No phones, no security. Sick MF.

I also heard that he had lost his own daughter 3 years ago, but no details how. What I can't comprehend with any of these types of situations is if you are angry with whatever and are going to kill yourself why do you need to take innocent victims with you?
 
The daughter he lost, from what I heard, was born prematurely and lived for 20 minutes after birth. It happened nine years ago and he supposedly was never able to get over the loss.
 
IMO it's just some BS excuse his lawyer came up with. He kills little girls b/c he molested some 20 years ago? This whole thing just makes me sick. And now they're saying his original plan was to rape the little girls before he killed them--he never got the chance b/c the police showed up.

This world can be so very frightening & disturbing.
