Another ? on Valor BD3 Squat Stands

For those who already have these, can you use them for bench press? I was going to place an order at Overstock but noticed in the description that they range from 36"-56". I measured and think I would still have a hard time reaching up to 36" to grab the bar for bench press while laying on my step bench with 4 risers per side. I know these are made for squats but I would like to have something that will work for both squats & bench press and doesn't take up a lot of room.

I seem to recall in the other thread that someone mentioned being able to use them for bench presses and possibly for the modified pullups -- maybe I only dreamed that! Mine are scheduled to arrive from Overstock on Friday, so I can't help you from personal experience yet.

Nancy~

I thought I read that someone used them for bench press too but maybe that is with a bench that stands higher than the step on 4 risers/side. Let me know what your think of the stands once you receive them.

Thanks!

FYI, if you do decide to order from Overstock try entering the promo code: 123903. It'll save you 10% (thru 8/31 I think).;)

Thank you Bizybee!!

I just placed my order and received another $14 off the squat stands with your promo code:D

Thanks so much for the promo code!! I've been wanting these for months, and decided to go ahead and get them since Cathe's pull-up tower sounds like it's not going to be available until next year. I can't wait to get them! :)

No problem, Ladies....always like to help ya spend yer money!!:p

I already have a squat rack so I (barely) managed to avoid temptation.

Thanks for the code!

I ordered those stands and used the promo code -- thanks so much!

And I ordered my kids those Serta memory-foam mattress toppers at the same time (also 10% off)! Thank you so much for saving me about $35!

And on the subject of bench press: I have a weight bench that is probably high enough to use for bench press with the Valor stands. I bought the bench from Sports Authority about 10 years ago (it was under $100) and I've gotten a lot of use out of it. If a step doesn't work, maybe it would be worth buying a weight bench.

I like it for pullovers and tricep press because it's narrower than the step and doesn't get in the way. Also good for tricep dips because the padding is more comfortable on my hands.

I'm the one that loves using them for bench press. I can't remember how many risers I use for the bench though. I also love using them for incline bench work as well.
