Another CC question...

Ok, I'm considering some CC downloads, but have a question!

I'm mostly a runner - an outside runner - but sometimes at the gym on the treadmill as well. When doing CC outside, if you have no hills in your area (like NW Ohio where I am!), what do you do in the hill intervals? I noticed virtually all of his volumes has hill challenges...

Thanks,
Heidi

I'm not a runner so I can't make a recommendation based on personal experience, but the faq section on the CC website says to change up your speed. And I know what you mean about NW Ohio -- I was born and raised in Tiffin!

Volumes 5 and 7 are probably the best ones for outdoor running, and a good friend of mine also uses V4. HTH :)

Thanks, Michele...and I'm in Findlay! Running outside now is just basically running on flat ground through cornfields. I have to admit that sometimes I get a little freaked out thinking about "Children of the Corn", lol...that's when the sprints come in:eek:

Anyone else have suggestions? I also walk/jog on flat terrain (Florida). CC gets so many good comments, but I'm not sure how well they work outdoors.

I always use my treadmill or elliptical but I know others have used them outside so hopefully they will chime in.

I did see one person post that they do walking lunges during the hills so that is an option.

I always do Cardio Coach on my treadmill, but before I had a treadmill with an incline option, I just did the climbs as sprint intervals. It should work to raise your heart rate into a higher zone. Give it a try.

I love doing CC outdoors. I primarily bought CC to use outdoors when I'm on vacation.

I stay in the zone, whatever zone Coach Sean tells me to. If I'm on the flat and supposed to be in zone 3 or 4, I just go faster. Walking lunges might work, but I always feel too goofy to do that in public. :p
