Another Baby shower question.....

Hi everyone,

I'm not having a baby, but my daughter is. She is due in January and having a shower next month. Her friend who is giving the shower called me and asked me to do the food. Any creative ideas?
I figured on veggie tray, fruit tray, chips/dip, but those things are at every party, and I'd like to make it special. ;-)
By the way , this will be our first grandchild and it's a boy. They've already named him Braden (Brayden, Braiden, Bradin, OR Braeden) :p They can't decide on spelling!:p

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestion!!!:)

I think that baby showers are a good opportunity to make 'girly' things since there are no men there. I have a baby shower line up that includes cucumber sandwiches, a chocolate chip/graham cracker 'ball', fruit kabobs with dipping sauce, chocolate fondue, etc. good luck. kristan

Well, first of all, I vote for Braden (sp), LOL.

Secondly, as for food, at my baby shower they had a sandwich tray (turkey, chicken, roast beef with various cheeses and breads - assemble your own) with all the condiments ie mayo, mustard etc, chicken salad on croissants, a veggie tray, fruit salads and an array of desserts.

There were two diffent punch bowls and a large selection of drinks, decaf and caffeinated.

You could also have pasta salad, taco salad - anything that can be made ahead of time, set out and piled on a plate.
