Another 1RM question

Is there a certain speed (like seconds up, seconds down)that should be used to do the test? For me, the speed of the lifting is a big determining factor in how heavy I can go.
 
Yes, tempo is important and you will want to do your 1RM at the same tempo as the exercise you’re testing for.

I don't want to be slow on the uptake, but how will I know what tempo Cathe will be using on the workouts?
