Angles, Lines and Curves

I gotta say, I’m a huge exercise video…I have far too many to count and with the expectation of Cathe, I rarely do anything else … until now. I’ve always like Keri Anderson (I find her very sweet and kind) and recently I’ve wanted to do a workout that doesn’t leave me feeling like I’m about to die (bless you Cathe!). In comes Angles, Lines and Curves 2. I cannot tell you how good this workout is. Its pilates. Yoga. Ballet all combined. The movements are fantastic. You feel so graceful doing this and like you’re not working hard, yet you are, you really build up a sweat, yet its like meditation in motion. Though no real direct ab work here (its all indirectly) you feel so worked out in your core. I cannot begin to tell you how great this video/dvd is…if you don’t own it, or want a workout to relax to (but still want to work hard) this is the one…trust me, you won’t believe this…x

I have this video as well and really loved it also. For some reason, I just can't get into yoga, but this tape is relaxing without being boring. I feel so graceful and peaceful while I am doing it. But I have found that I haven't been doing it as much as when I first got it - maybe the novelty has worn off...

Hey Diane ... i'm still loving this workout. I just don't feel like jumping around all the time. I do this workout almost daily now (in the evening), along with strength trainig (first thing in the morning). Though i try hard to like yoga and pilates, the truth is ... i just don't. But this workout i love. Peaceful. Graceful. Hard work and good for strength, flexibilty and core work. Love love love it.

Hi there! I've got this too and love it. I'm really into Yoga, but I love this one because it's more active...and yes, graceful. Kari is sooooo graceful! This is good for those low energy days. It really helps with balance and flexibility. ALC 1 is good, too, but not as long (I think it runs 45 mins.?) so for variety, you might want to consider getting that one, too, and alternating between the two.

I bought a used ALC 1 from the Ya-Ya's and did not care for it a bit. I have heard raves about this vid for months and am a huge yoga fan so I thought I'd love it. I did it once, then gave it to a friend who tends to like Karen Voight-y type workouts and she loved it. Maybe I should've given it another try, but I felt like I wasted my precious workout time! This friend tends to be an on-again, off-again exerciser so I'm glad she liked it so much. How is ALC 2 different?

I recently got ALC 2 and I agree with you, Wayne, it is a great workout. I add it on to my workouts at least twice a week. I used to do Power Yoga after a full workout and it got to be a bit much.:)

Susan, I have never heard anything about ALC1, but you could read a review of both of them at videofitness.com and compare the two.

ACL 1 and 2 are both exquisite workouts! ACL 1 is more stretching with a bit of leg and butt work and is 45 minutes. ACL 2 has more Pilates leg work in it but still a lot of stretching, and is about 58 minutes. They both have a lot of ballet type moves in them that make you feel so graceful and beautiful! Just a great serotonin/endorphin rush with these tapes. I use them when I am too tired to workout, also do them at least once a week for flexibility, balance and restorative work. In the winter especially my muscles get very tight and these are great to loosen up. I also really like the music and the tapes do not have that weird Yoga spiritual stuff or feel to them at all.

Hi Wayne -

I pulled this video off the shelf today and did it again for the first time in a while and it felt great. I will start trying it add it in to my rotation again, maybe on my "rest" days. Thanks for reintroducing it to me!!

Glad you like it. I do too. I really feel my core in this video. I love it and use it more to relaxation than a workout. I want to love yoga, but you know...i just don't!

I felt the same way--wanted to like yoga, but just didn't (except for Ali McGraw's video at White Sands). Then I found Rodney Yee's Yoga for Athletes. I don't know what makes it so much better than any of his other videos, but it just seems to work. Now I've found a vigorous Kripalu yoga class that makes my body feel great. There are a lot of types of yoga out there...maybe you just haven't found the right one yet.
