<--- And I feel like heaven's so far away

<--- replies to self to ask Judy and Shelley what happened to Robin's camera?
<--- is sure there's a great story here
<--- is developing a serious butt glue problem and really can't afford it
<--- has to be very organized between now and her trip because there is much she needs to accomplish
<--- is demonstrating "sloth" for Robin:p ;(

<---waves howdy at Michelapoo
<---tells Michele her weekend sounded wonderful
<---loves art museums
<---says whodathunkit?
<---says when DD was in middle school, we took a trip to Philly and she wanted to go to the art museum to see this http://www.philamuseum.org/collections/permanent/102998.html
Her art teacher had talked about the painting. We shrugged our shoulders and said OK, what's wrong with a little culture. DH and <---ended up loving the museum, while poor DD was bored to tears.
<---is actually an Intellectual (with a small "i")
<---a very small "i"

<--- loves the art museum but doesn't know squat aboot art--lol!
<--- is one of them small "i" intellectuals
<--- says her DH is a "I" but acts like a "i" and he can be fun to do cultural stuff with--lol!
<--- says her DH is a rootin, tootin, art lovin hick from Ohio:7
<--- edits to say she tried Robin's link but it doesn't work for <---:(

<--- edits to say she checked the link again and Oh Boy!!
<--- LOVES Charles Wilson Peale
<--- loves American art from this era
<--- would love to spend some time in Philadelphia
<--- says her DH's brother lives there with that, that..SIL!
<--- says we never visit them but would like to just so she can see all teh historic sites!

<---says well crap (in an intellectual way)
<---says the link works for me
<---tells you it is a picture of The Staircase Group by Charles Willson Peale
<---is a hick art lover - the type who says, "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like"
<---loves Renoir, Monet and Cassatt
<---stood in front of Girl with a Watering Can by Renoir in NYC and cried (because <---mother had a copy of it in our bathroom when <---was a kid)
<---says DH loves Renoir's The Great Bathers in Philly, because they are naked and ummm, robust

<--- tells Robin that it's by Lawren Harris and is titled North Shore, Lake Superior
<--- says Lawren Harris was one of the Group of Seven along with Tom Thomson, etc.

<--- never heard of the Group of Seven so she googled it and found this
http://www.tomthomson.org/index.cfm
<--- oohed and ahhed over several of the paintings
<--- could spend all day roaming around the art museum
<--- tells Robin the local museum put together a French Impressionist exhibit a few years ago which included a Renoir oil on canvas of a little girl with a hoola hoop that <--- fell in love with
<--- bought the book that went with the exhibit which had a photo of that painting
<--- cut out the picture and took it to an art/framing place and had them
transfer it onto a canvas and apply brushstrokes so it looked like a real painting
<--- now has it in her living room on a little brass easel:D

<--- edited several times to correct atrocious spelling errors caused by her apparent dyslexia

<--thanks Shelley for the happy thought :)
<--strives to even be a little "i" because DH is a medium "i" and his fam damily are all ginormous "I"s and rather intimidating
<--came from a hick fam damily whose garage was bigger than the house and the backyard was filled with numerous vehicles that didn't run
<--:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

<---was suprised to see the artist died in early 1900's
<---adds that <---had trouble a couple minutes ago getting back here
<---wonders if Cathe.com homepage is down again
<---luckily had copied Michele's link to forums and was carrying around in her purse

<--- tells Robin that <--- has found that the secret to modern art is to stare at it for a long time
<--- says you'd be amazed at what a plain circle on a white background will do if you stare at it for a while;)
<--- says that North Shore, Lake Superior has the most amazing quality of light she's ever seen

<---thinks Shelley is much better at art then this small i intellectual
<---did once stare at a Monet for a long time and could feel the spring-like breeze and hear the trees swaying
<---is actually a rather shallow intellectual who has to force herself to notice things like good art, good music, good writing, good food
<---can't hardly tell the difference between margarine and butter

<--- can definitely tell the difference between butter and margerine--lol
<--- understands what Shelley means about an amazing quality of light
<--- says that's why she likes Caravaggio and the Dutch Masters, for the way they use light and shadows
<--- confesses that she is not attracted to modern art but has seen some she likes
<--- saw a house that was totally furnishesd with antiques but had modern art paintings on the wall and thought it worked
<--- would never know how to make that work in her house
<--- 's DH likes it all

<--- LOVES Vermeer
<--- loved Girl With a Pearl Earring--the book and especially, the movie with hunky what's his name}( :*
<--- edits to say she just noticed Kara's post
<--- also married into a fam damily of ginormous "I's"
<--- doesn't fit in either, but her in-laws treat her pretty well
<--- says she is blessed with a kind and wonderful MIL and FIL who are brilliant but very down to earth and darn nice folk
<--- says whenever there is a DH damily gathering, <--- is the least educated person in the room
<--- thinks they include <--- for their amusement:7

<--waves a sleepy good morning

<--sends Shelley anti-cramp vibes!
<--is glad Nancy sounds better
<--hopes Tammy recovers from her weekend of entertaining a VIP!
<--is very jealous of Robin and her day of bad eating!
<--is also very jealous of the mountain thing!
<--doesn't have any mountains nearby, but has very lovely beaches
<--is more science minded than art minded
<--'s favorite artist is Tabora
http://www.taboragallery.com/RGTapassionado.jpg
<--he does beach/ocean scenes
<--has several of his lithographs
<--is very fortunate that Dh really likes him too
<--'s thought train has just jumped the tracks
<--needs to snooze
<--will bbl!!!

<-- waves to fellow Catheites
<-- wishes had more time to read and post
<-- has been swamped getting ready for <-- sis's wedding this Saturday
<-- can't wait for it to be over so <-- can get back to a uninterrupted Cathe rotation
<-- is eating oatmeal with flaxseeds and blueberries
<-- thinks flaxseeds are delish
<-- should stop typing and get ready to go
<-- has a full day of wedding related shopping and errands

<---Hopes everybody else is doing fine
<---Did Body Max and GS Legs this weekend...
<---Suprised that just the calf muscles are sore
<---Hates Body Max...too long and hard
<---Don't really know why I purchased Body Max 2
<---Maybe into pain?
<---Waves bye bye too!

<---has never done Body Max as one whole workout
<---but admires anyone who does
<---loves the mountains, but probably loves the beach and ocean more
<---thinks that's because the mountains are close and the beach is far away
<---adds that the mountains <---is talking aboot are little mountains
<---isn't climbing up giant western peaks
<---will just be strolling uphill and over rocks for about a mile
<---will then sit on very hard rocks with binoculars held in front of face
<---wonders if lowering and raising binoculars all day could be called an upper body workout
