I was wondering what Kickbox enthusiast thought about the Amy Bento Rumble DVD??

I am advanced kickboxer.

I like Rumble but only for days when I want to work out light. I do not use it very often. For me there is not much intensity in it and I do not work up much of a sweat. The sections that use the bag are good.

I feel the same way about the intensity. When I do early morning workouts, I need them to be lighter, so this is one of them that fits that bill. I usually skip the bag section, I did it once without the bag, but I can see how it would be good with one.

I liked it better than her other KB workouts when it first came out (I don't like her putting more choreographed non-kickboxy stuff in, and with her first KB workout, some of the moves were so awkward to do correctly).

I REALLY like the bag section (which is too short, though). It's a nice sequence of moves that are really kickboxy (not like the short segment on one of her earlier KB workouts, where she does tuck jumps after doing a punch, for example). It's excellent if you have a bag to use for it. (I don't think you'd get as much out of it without the bag.

That being said, I don't reach for this workout very much at all. It's rather dull, IMO. I think Amy took things a bit too much in the opposite direction of her other KB workouts, and the build=up to sequences is kind of slow.

I really enjoy this workout. You can add weighted gloves (which Amy does) and put more "ooommmph" behind the moves to up the intensity. Her form is good. She does break down the moves a little too much for my taste but only because I have done the dvd several times. I reach for this quite often and really enjoy it. I actually prefer it to a couple of Amy's other kickboxing workouts. You can view a nice long clip at her website (nrgfitness.net). I also really like her In The Ring kickboxing workout.

I am with Kathryn on preferring my kickbox without choreo intensive hi/lo thrown in.

Rumble is one of my favorite Kick Box workouts. It can be made intense by emphasizing form or using weighted gloves. A slow pace is a different style of intensity because you can aim for perfect form on every punch and kick. But you wont get the fast paced / higher impact cardio kind of intensity from this.

The only thing that I wish had been better about this production is if there were more background exercisers who were really getting into it. This one has just one person who is modifying, so Amy has no company on the gusto-version of the workout. That makes it seem low energy on preview. When I actually do the workout though, it doesnt matter at all. I am too busy focusing.

This is the FIRST and ONLY Amy Bento workout I got rid of. It moved very slow, didn't get my heart rate up, and was just so, so, boring to me. I do not own a bag so that may make it more intense, but I just couldn't get over the slow pace.
