Amy Bento - All Pump Extreme

Hi Everyone!

I was hoping you could give me some information on Amy Bento's All Pump Extreme. Is it a good workout? A good addition to my Cathe strength workouts? Also, what equiptment does she use?

Any info would be appreciated!

Hi Karen,
Go to www.nrgfitness.org and you will find a nice, long clip to give you an idea of what this workout is like. I borrowed if for a few weeks and I purchased HLX and KBX but not APX. There is a lot of APX footage on the HLX workout within 3 premixes. APX is a good workout and it uses BB's, step with many risers, DB's, and resistance tubing. There is one back exercise that is not very doable at home unless you have a million risers. When I did the workout as is, it was too long for me. I didn't click with it, but many love it and I hear comments that many love the premixes and 3 day split premixes.

I have to say that i really like it. I did it for the 3rd time on Friday and am really feeling it today. I am surprised as i am doing Slow and Heavy right now... but i really worked my muscles in a new way with APX. Some of the moves are new and fresh to me and i like having that to mix things up once in a while. A good muscle shock with lot's of great pre-mixes. A good buy i think to add on to Cathe for a change one in a while. The back work really got me good and the sholder work is very refeshing. Not too big on the core work. Oh.. and the "drop push up's" are really going to get you.. ohhh that burn is good!

FYI: If you're interested in a hi-lo workout as well, Amy's Hi-Lo Extreme DVD also contains most of the footage from the All Pump Extreme workout (used in premixes for circuit workouts). I'm not sure what's missing (someone who has both can tell you), but you could possible make a pretty good weights-only workout from the footage.
