So what did everyone think? I thought the show was alot better then last weeks.
Again, Chris rocked! I think being so original is going to take him along way.Actually, I think I would like to see him win!

I thought everyone was good but I think Lisa is going to be sent home.I thought she was off key, but I don't know the song she was singing so she must have sang it right.
And once again, Taylor made me laugh out loud numerous times! Oh, and Kelley seems to be getting alot better.

I thought the weak ones were Lisa and Taylor. All the others did really well. Well, Chris rocks everytime anyways!!! When I heard he was going to sing Johnny Cash I was jumping off the couch and my DD was telling me to be quiet!!!! I love Johnny Cash!!! Ace molested the camera once again, but actually did sing much better. Gosh, even Kevin did much better. Katharine is just such a beauty and I think Kelly is just too nervous and doesn't know what to say so when she speaks she sounds so ditzy with some of the things she will say. It is just nerves, I think.

What happened to Taylor? That was the worst that I have ever seen him. I am so sad! ;( DH didn't like that Walk the Line version that Chris did, he is a hard core Johnny fan. Kelly finally got to sing the perfect song for her, she was fantastic FINALLY! I just LOVE Elliot's voice, I really do think that he has the best vocals of the men, maybe even since this competition began five years ago. And Katherine was glowing last night - she really looks and sings like a star I think.

This week was definitely much better than last week. Even the weakest ones this week weren't that bad.

I LOVE what Chris did. He's the only one that made me feel like I was actually attending a concert. He's a real pro.

Ace certainly did better than last week (more comfortable on stage, showing his singing chops rather than relying on his looks).

I think Kellie picked the perfect song for her. She seems to be losing that "gosh, shucks, I'm just a simple country girl" Image, but Ryan was trying to get some "golly gee" quote from her.

I think Kevin and Bucky and eithe Taylor or Lisa (these last two had an off night) should be in the bottom three. But who knows how people will vote.
 
It's a tough year to pick - so many talented people! I thought Mandesa and Katherine were best for the women. I normally like Chris but wished he had done something that showcased his talents better. I think Bucky will go but Kevin could go too. Not sure why Kevin is still there.
 
I LOVED Chris last night. I really hope he makes it to the end.

I like Bucky but didn't think his performance was all that great last night. He always looks like he is having so much fun.

I agree, why is Kevin still there?

Ace??? I know that I"m the odd ball here but he doesn't really do anything for me.

As for the girls, I thought Mendisa was awesome.

I missed Taylor's performance (fussy baby at that time).
 
I thought Chris was great as always - the song didn't show off his vocals as much as others would have, but what was great about it was that he took a well known song and made it his own.

Kellie was definitely better last night, though the whole Jessica Simpson ditzy routine makes my skin crawl. I think she knows exactly what she is doing when she says cutesy, country girl stuff. She knows that is part of the reason people like her and she is using that.

I also think Kevin is doing the same thing - he knows who his fan base is and acting "pimp" or "tough guy" to Simon so that people will feel sorry for the poor guy and vote for him. The smartest thing Simon did last night was be nice to Kevin and not get into a little fight. The fighting just makes people vote for him, and Simon wants him off the show.

I was SOOOO disappointed with Taylor's performance. I am a big fan of his (Chris and Taylor are my favorites, the only ones I would actually go out and buy their cd). I sincerely hope he doesn't get kicked yet, though I actually hope he DOESN'T win in the end. He would probably put out a much better album if he is not tied to an American Idol contract which would force him to put out a pop type album. I hope Chris wins.

I love Kathrine's voice and I think she looked great last night, but in the end, she just doesn't make me want to buy an album from her.

I hope Buckey or Lisa gets sent home. I think Lisa was a favorite of many in the beginning, but it has become clear that she is just too young and not ready yet. Everyone else in this competition was able to take a 50's song and make it seem current. She sang a 50's song and it sounded like a 50's song - boring. She is cute and a good singer, but she seems more like a broadway performance, not really a pop star. I really wanted Kevin kicked, but I don't think that will happen because he has his fan base.

I don't like Bucky at all (wow, I feel bad even saying that!) and I'm not quite sure how he got this far. I thought his performance was very sub-par. I thought Taylor did okay, but it wasn't a great song choice - I mean, were there only four words in the whole thing??

I thought Mandisa rocked and Kellie did, too. (They made awesome song choices.) I love Chris and his choice was interesting, but I thought it was a really weak start. He definitely can't hit those low Johnny Cash notes.

I'm not really sure who I want to win!

BTW, this is the first season I've ever watched and I'm amazed at how engrossing it is!

Shame on me...I never vote for anyone cuz I am too tired when the show is over. 10pm is just very late for me. However, I did vote for Fantasia 200 times once.

my fav's in order from last night only mandisa,paris,chris and even kevin and kellie (which I don't usually like)
I love Chris and Taylor but Taylor was lacking last night.Chris actually sang the song from another groups arrangment of the song is what I heard on the radio this morning that it isn't his brain storm after all it was sang that way by a group called live around 2000.still loved it and I had never heard it that way.

I'd heard that the top 12 are all required to sign a contract before the voting begins, so whether they are number 1 or not, they are still tied to some record producer.
 
Charlotte brings up a good point. Does anyone here actually vote? I haven't yet, and I feel guilty about that!

BTW, I don't think Kellie will win because she is too much like that person who won last season. Also, am I the only person who doesn't think Ace is that hot? He is a little effeminate for me. I think Chris, on the other hand, is REALLY hot! I guess I'm a bad-boy sorta woman... :)

LOL, Charlotte!! I did the exact same thing and both my daughter and son told me to be quiet! Plus, I startled my Golden Retriever that was sprawled out napping beside the couch! Chris totally ROCKS!!!

I agree about Ace. I think he's girly too. Now Chris is another story....:D

I also agree that Kellie knows what she is doing. She actually reminds me of Dolly Parton, not in her body, LOL, but in her "shucks I'm just a country girl" schtick.

Someone please explain Bucky's hair to me.....

At this point, last night being the contest that separated the men from the boys, I'm going with Mandisa, Kathryn and Chris as the SERIOUS top contenders.

I'm getting a trifle tired of Kelly's country bumpkin act, even tho' I really suspect it's genuine, and Kevin really must go. Even my dear Taylor is not one of the very best, sad for me to admit.

Gotta love Barry Manilow for the way he worked with them! What a guy - makes me want to run out and buy his 50's CD because he was so cool.

I'm so impressed by Chris. He's got the voice, does well on stage, and he's just so much fun to look at!!!

On another note, did anyone else notice something with Paula's left eye? Is this something she always has had a problem with? I noticed she was trying to cover it with her bangs, and it seemed she didn't have any makeup on that eye. Maybe it was just an eye infection?

I like Ace's hair (I like either longer hair like his..but not long like Bo Byce..or bald!). But those "dreamy" looks he's supposedly giving to the camera always look more to me like "gee, I'm scared!" looks.
