Am I pink or yellow?

I was perusing eBay looking for a new minerals foundation product. One product color, "Fair", is for fair skin with pink undetones. The other choice was "Buff" for fair skin with yellow undertones.

How do I know if I'm fair with pink undertones or fair with yellow undertones?

I'm know I'm fair, but not ivory-pale, and frecked and have green-blue eyes with hair I color red.

How do I know which I am?

You're probably pink. When I think of yellow undertones, I think of the Mediterranean and olive skinned people, or anyone with darker skin tones. But then, don't listen to me as I have no clue about this stuff and I'm terrible at matching colors

I respectfully disagree with Michele. Based on your description with freckles and reddish hair, you likely have a warm complexion with yellow undertones. Do you look better in ivory (warm) or white (cool)? The warm seasons (yellow undertones) are spring and autumn. The cool seasons (pink or blue undertones) are summer and winter. There are a few different ways to determine if you have pink undertones (cool) or yellow undertones (warm). Give these a try:

I'm very fair, but am still considered warm/yellow based on my hair (golden blonde) and eye color (blue/green with gold flecks). The main way for me to tell is that I look a lot better in off-white/cream/yellows/oranges than pure white/pinks/purples.

I always thought I was warm, but then looked at the chart and I always get compliments when I wear blue, green, pink and purple. My makeup looks way better now .

Thanks ladies! Once again, I knew I could count on you!

My veins appear blue, so I guess I'm a cool. Funny thing, though, I prefer to wear warm colors like dark greens and browns (especially in eye makeup) and dark blues and dark purples (especially in clothes). Well, I guess blue and purples would be cool colors? I don't prefer bright colors!

I have your same coloring - I use Everyday Minerals and they actually have a section that is Neutral. Which is what I use. I find things are usually either too pink or too yellow and I'm right in the middle. I'm not sure what color I use offhand, but it's a dead match. I also find Origins Original Skin in Paperwhite matches really well, too.

I have always been told by makeup folks I am both, which means I am more neutral? Its confusing this "what is your color palette?" I do know one of my best colors to wear is lighter/dove grey which is weird because alot of folks look horrid in grey. But anything camel colored is horrific on me. I love that fall, winter, summer, spring thing, my mom used to do that! She "diagnosed" me as a summer. But I think my veins look greenish...oh dear whats a girl to do??:7
