Alwyn, TTers, KBers, Xers, etc Thursday

Jacque: My DH is a hockey fan too-NJ Devils. What's your fave team?

Jen: Thanks for the input on an NYC overnight. I hope you have a blast this weekend! When DH and I go we are going to see a show. It'll be a childless weekend for us. ;)

Lori: Awww sorry about DS. My good friend's son had that not too long ago. From what I heard, it wasn't pretty! :( How's he doing this morning?

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Ten Minute Trainer's Cardio & Core Cardio with the cardio belt and then I did Mitch Gaylord's High Calorie Melt with 2 & 4 lb med ball. I only did part of the ab workout. Total workout was 62" and I burned 578 calories.

I wanted to do Yoga...but I didn't hear my alarm go off....so ran out of time. If I get everything done around here....I might try to do some before work since it's my late day at work.

Have great workouts everyone.

Good Morning Gals!

DS seems to be a bit better today. I thought we were gonna have a rough night last night but he slept from 11-8:45 without a peep. He seems to be doing a bit better, I hope he is on the mend.
It poured here yesterday afternoon and when we came home, we found a nice surprise in our basememt! 4" of water! After listening to DS scream most of the day, I couldn't really handle this, and then the worry of wondering if the insurance company was going to cover it. We found out today that they would so thats good news. On another note, all of my workout stuff is moved out of the house and it is still raning out and I don't know if I will get a workout in today.

Wendy** Did you catch up on my stats on the race? Would you like for me to share them with you (again!) lol I ran the race in 79 mins, our of 2047 people I finished 372, out of 1025 women I finished 67th and out of my ae group I finished 9th out of 124. I was quit happy with that but had DOMS in my legs for days! I did alot better then I thought I would! Glad everyone coaxed me to do it or I may not have.

Lora** How is work these days? Good job on your workout earlier!

BBL!
Lori

Great race, Lori ! I knew you'd do well! Congrats! So I gather you enjoyed it? Would you do another one?? :) So glad DS seems to be feeling better.

Lora, So how do you like the 10 minute trainers? Ther reviews I have heard have been shakey at best so I never purchased them.

So I banged out 4DS shoulders/core/calves weight work at 7am and just got back from the gym a little while ago after doing CC#3 as produced. Great work out! :)

Off to grab some lunch but I'll BBL~

Good Morning everyone!

Lori, ugh! :( Water in the basement is the worst! It happens in mine occasionally and my washer and dryer is down there. Talk about inconvenient! Then it stays damp and musty for a while. Ick. Make sure you get a dehumidifier down there as soon as you can. Glad to hear the little guy in on the mend! Geesh, with all the stuff you're dealing with, you're going to need a drink this weekend!

Wendy, even better if it's just you and DH going. That'll give you many more options for hotels, and like I said, if you choose the right time, the cost won't be too bad. It's really worth it to stay in the city.

Lora, did you ever get that yoga in?

I did Afterburn weights this morning. It left my legs totally fried. This was the third weight workout for the week, thus finishing Week 7 of Afterburn. I'll do some cardio in the morning before I leave, and then I'll only have one week left of Stage II. Yipee!! 'Cuz I'm starting to feel the need for a little change. Can't wait to see what he's got in store for Stage III ;)

Back to work! Have a great day everyone.

BBS~
Jen

Good morning to all !

Woke with a headache that I hope goes away, but after nearly 4 hours it is still here. That said, I surely wasn't in the mood for my 2nd UB workout this week. Hit the TM for a 30 min SS run. Have DOMS from L & G yesterday so it helped to use them this AM.

Wendy - We're half an hour from San Jose so are Sharks fans. We don't play NJ too often, only a couple time a year at most. Thought about a CC this AM but just didn't feel like much. Watched 24 while I was running. Getting close to the end.

Lora - glad to hear you got a good workout in. Hope you ended up getting your yoga in there too. Sure helps, huh?

Lori - what a bummer. Sometimes I wish we had basements here in CA but when I hear those stories I guess sometimes it can be a drag too. Glad to hear it will be covered and also that DS is better and slept through the nite. LOL at posting your race results again - I am still in awe at your time !

Jen - Wondering how your legs will be tomorrow if they are already fried today? I hear you on wanting to finish AB - with the need to change it up when I was doing NORLW, I am wondering how I will make it through STS when it comes out. I am hoping that since there are different DVD's for each workout that it will be OK - especially since we will be choosing our own cardio. We'll see. Have a great day at work.

See ya'll a little later . . .

Jacque, way to go on the run, even with a headache! I probably would have just stayed in bed  It seems like four weeks is the magic number when it comes to sticking with a specific workout for me. I remember feeling like this at the end of stage 1, and getting a new supply of energy at the start of stage 2 just because things were new. Of course, it could just be that I know the change is coming and so I'm getting antsy!! But I think it also has to do with the fact that as I increase my weights every few workouts, they're just getting harder and harder and I'm just about at that point of saying "Enough already!!! I can't go any heavier!" Whatever the reason, bring on stage 3 :D

Jen

Jen - I agree with the 4 weeks - that works fine for me but I think my body responds better with the changing up too and longer than 4 doesn't seem to be working right now.

The 50 year old metabolism is so different than the 45 year old metabolism.

And I was upping the weights too but by the end of Stage 2 my hands couldn't hold any more weight (I have lost finger strength and have weakened forearms also) and then my UB isn't strong enough to lift more than 45 or 50# overhead. So I was donning a weighted vest for squats.

I hope STS will be doable with my "issues" with heavy weights. Guess we will see. Though I always figure if I am lifting heavy, even if I could go heavier but have other problems, at least it should maintain if not tone.

We'll see.
