Already stressing about vacation

I'm stessing about what to do about excercising when I go to the inlaws for Christmas. I thought of bringing my Tamilee Webb video since it is only 2 15 minute work outs and CTX Kickboxing. The hubby says I probably won't even excercise when I am there. I think it is better to bring the tapes than not to and be kicking myself wishing I had brought them. Plus, we will be there for 10 days. That's along time not be working out!

I don't know what the weather is like where you're going, but you can always do some pre-opening hours mall walking. Find the closest mall, find out what time they open for walkers, and walk! That's the absolutely easiest way to get exercises when you're on vacation.

Get some exercise tubing, and use that for strength training. Being on vacation does NOT mean you can't exercise. Don't listen to your hubby.

Just Do It! :)

I was just thinking the same as Honeybunch. If I were going to be away visiting for 10 days I would bring my little Nomad music player with headphones and extra batteries and sneakers. Depending upon where you are and the weather, you can walk outdoors or indoors. It's also a great excuse to get away from all the relatives for an hour or more! :)

LAST EDITED ON Dec-06-02 AT 02:33PM (Est)[p]I know how you feel. I went on a two week vacation this past summer and I took one tape (had to pack light) It was a tae bo ripped. (no equipment necessary) I couldn't do high impact because of the concrete surface so that is why I didn't take cardio kicks. I did it every other day (about an hour long) and I added pushups to it (one set of as many as I could do) and some dips from a chair. I maintained pretty well. I did exercise when everyone else was asleep so I didn't feel self-conscious or get distracted.

Good luck.
Enjoy your vacation - whether or not you work out.

We're flying to upstate NY from sunny, warm southern California. Brrrr........ Isn't funny that anything outside of NYC is called "upstate"?

Take 'em! You'll feel better about your holiday indulgences if you know you're keeping up with your workouts. I selected a Body Bar workout tape and took a couple of eight pound dumbbells on my vacation last summer. Granted, it wasn't as tough as Cathe's workouts, but it was a relaxing change of pace and didn't require a lot of equipment.

Upstate New York? Maybe you should take some snowshoes!
