Already sick of school!

I know - the year has hardly gotten underway. We started the day after Labor Day. But I feel like the little bit my kids are here, it's just rush rush, hurry up and do - fill-in-the-blank. Homework, lunches, rushing out the door, rushing to bed, activities, fundraisers, all the papers coming home. I'm over it I know a lot of moms can't wait for school to start ... I've never been one of them. They were starting to get bored and fight a little, but now it's been a month. Is it time for break yet?

Too many activities

That's why I never did all that "extra stuff". I didn't have time and the kids wouldn't have any free time if they had to participate in sports, etc. The more the school's put back on to the parents the less time we have enjoying our time off. What little there is. We even quit going to the open houses every year. Wasted my time, the kids' time and they didn't give out any pertinent information.

I totally agree. My daughter has swimming lessons one night a week. My son isn't doing anything right now. And there is a half hour of band practice Friday. That's it! I don't know how kids get homework and everything else done with all the sports. I'm not criticizing, it just wouldn't work for us.

I'm with you! I've tried really hard not to overschedule our family, but things still get crazy. We aren't involved in sports, but my kids do music (piano lessons, school orchestra and choir). My Highschooler and Jr. Higher have A.P. and honors courses, and my 6th grader is plenty busy as well. It's a constant battle to simplify. Mornings are nuts with piano practice and a child leaving every half-hour. My kids hate school lunch (which I'm grateful for because I think it's horrid for them), but it's tricky finding something healthy that they'll like that can be packed for lunch. And afternoons are a zoo of activity. I'm always afraid of not signing SOMETHING in time. Fortunately DD is great at turning things in, but my sons--not so much. I'm always having to ask them if they should be turning something in. And that "something" just went through the wash in the back pocket of the jeans. Don't even get me started on projects, reflections, and science fair (which most teachers make mandatory). Oh, and I almost forgot scouts.
