I've been feeling pretty good these last few months but I'm already worried about all of that "dirty" holiday food. Just thinking about it makes me feel bloated. It starts mid November for me with my daughter's birthday, and then Thanksgiving. (At least Turkey day is at my house and I can control what goes into the food.) Next is my birthday, FIL's birthday and then Christmas. Christmas Eve at my aunt's. Christmas dinner at my mother's. Christmas leftovers or my mother's cooking for the rest of our stay. We spend about 4 days there. Then we go home to another Christmas dinner at my in-laws!
Nobody eats clean and it turns into a free-for-all. Eat in moderation you say? Yeah, right. Once I start on something I just don't stop until I'm stuffed. I'm so much better off in my house in an almost clean environment.
Why do the holidays have to be about food? Oh, I am not looking forward to them at all. I know this sounds selfish but I hope I get the flu. (Well, not really, but I doubt anyone in my family wants to eat grilled chicken and steamed veggies for Christmas.)
I know there is nothing any of you can do. I just wanted to vent.
