Alpha-Omega Check-In, 1/14/09

Good morning Lynn and anyone else who would like to join!

This is our first check-in! We'd like to start off with some scripture to keep ourselves focused first and foremost on what is the most important thing in our lives -our faith! Feel free to add any scripture you'd like! After some encouragement for the soul, it's on to our workouts! I hope any and all will find this thread encouraging and welcoming! God bless!

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost" (Revelation 21:6)

I thought that would be an appropriate scripture for our first post, given our thread name! My determination this year is to keep my main focus on the Lord, to spend time daily in His word, and to continually draw from His spring (of the water of life)! How incredibly encouraging to me to know that He says He will give from this spring to the one who thirsts without cost. He asks for nothing in return but our faith in Him!

This morning I completed Maximum Intensity Strength. This was my first time doing this workout. It was a killer, especially the leg section, I never though those squats would end!! Overall it was a great workout! I really like how Cathe took rest periods in between each movement to stretch out the back and upper body. My only gripe is that it is too long - 75 minutes! I do prefer shorter workouts, but this one gets 5 stars in my book nonetheless!

I look forward to hearing from you, Lynn, and all else who want to chime in!

Have a blessed day!

:)Christine

A good start...

This morning I did the Firm's Pump, Jump & Jab. I could only do 1/2 pushups:eek:, but I finished the workout! Throughout the day I'm going to do as many full, good-form pushups that I can muster at a time.

Hi Lynn!
Yes, a good start indeed! :) How are those push-ups coming along? ;) I'll admit, I really don't like push-ups and avoid them when I can!! I don't know what it is but they bother my neck/back and I use good form! ah well!

I'm off to do a google search on the Firm's Pump, Jump & Jab, sounds fun!!

Hi Christine and Lynn! Mind if I join you? :)

Christine, what a great resolution! I love that you included the complete Scripture verse out of Revelations. Jesus will constantly give us all we need. We just need to focus on Him. How I need to be reminded of that! I enjoy MIS as well. I don't do it as much due to the time frame. I tend to use Power Hour more on that DVD.

Lynn, Great job finishing that WO!!!! I haven't tried that one yet, but I have heard good things about it.

I did The Kettlebell Way Vol 1 today. I had been following FF's Jan Rotation and I got tired of the heavy lifting. :( I need some more circuits and cardio so I am winging it for the rest of the month.

Thanks so much for starting this check-in, Christine! What a blessing!
