Aloe Vera Juice

Hey Everyone!

Since you ladies (and men!) are a wealth of knowledge about all things health, I was wondering if any of you drink Aloe Vera Juice? After reading about the health benefits (and seeing the beautiful skin of a friend of mine who swears by it) I have drank two daily servings. I have used it for over a year now and I really feel like it has made a difference in my digestive system, skin elasticity, and overall health (I seem to get common colds less, that sort of thing). Just curious if any of you have tried it and/or heard anything about it that you can share.

The stuff I use is highly potent and is more like a liquidy gel (kinda the consistency of Citrucel) than actual juice - you only drink about 1 oz. at a time. It's pretty expensive, but after reading up on several different brands, this one was the highest rated:

I do drink aloe vera juice, pretty much every day. Unfortunately, I don't think the quality of mine is great - I just get it at the local grocery store. I had wondered about this particular brand that you use, though, because I used to use their AgelessXtra and liked it a lot. Right now I'm spending so much money doing a parasite/heavy metal/candida cleanse that everything else will have to wait. I actually have yet to see any benefit to drinking the aloe I'm drinking. I take about 8 ounces of green vegetable juice (that I juice myself) and 6 ounces of the aloe.

Thanks for the testimony to this brand, though, I've been wondering for a long time! :)

Hello Dianna,

I used to drink Aloe Vera juice but I did not notice the benefits you described. I drank the liquid gel variety that was said to be the best as well: I used to drink it once a day. I stopped after about 3 months because I didn't like the taste and didn't want to continue if it wasn't working.

I have heard great things about Aloe Vera and wonder if maybe I didn't give it a chance. Maybe I should give it another go after reading the positive feedback.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to access the link to see if it was the same Aloe Vera juice that I drank.

The stuff I drink is called "Aloe Gold" and it is made by a company called Oasis. The big plantation they have where they grow all their aloe is called Hilltop Gardens in Texas. Maybe this link will work:

And yeah, like I said, I can honestly notice a difference. It became extra obvious after I ran out for a few weeks and didn't take any. I became very *ahem* "stopped up" and my skin seemed drier. Maybe it was a coincidence, but I think not. After I got back on it, "things" picked back up and it was an unpleasant experience for the first few days. My skin seems healthier and more plump/hydrated. Glad to be back on it and I do think it's something worth trying. Just make sure you get the good stuff - many people claim that the stuff you buy at the grocery store/health food store isn't processed and stored correctly and therefore, will provide little to no benefit. I really love the Oasis and won't use anything else!

This may seem comical, however, I feed aloe vera juice to one of my horses. She has bad ulcers and I started to add this to her grain. She just wouldn't put weight on and just picked at her feed. After adding the aloe she now trys to knock me down to get her feed and has probably put on 100 lbs that she needed badly. I just use the kind that you can buy at WalMart and it has certainly helped her with her stomach issues.

That's a cool story - as an animal lover, I am always up for a good animal story...particularly if it has a happy ending!

Yes - ulcers are one of the many things that I have read that people use aloe vera juice to treat. It is said that one only has to think of the things you would use topical aloe vera for (cuts, burns, irritations, etc.) and just imagine of what it will do for your insides. It is a fact that aloe is a natural anti-fungal and has many healing properties...whether or not one agrees that taking it orally will make a difference or not. Thanks for sharing your horse story and I am glad the horse is feeling better! :)
