almond butter

I bought some at the grocery this week and it is yummy.

Only one problem it is dang hard to stir, I tried putting it in the microwave for a few seconds but didn't have all the foil off. OOPS!!!

Do you I think I can still eat it or did I wreck it? And if it is still edible how the heck do you stir it?

I don't know about wrecking it or not.... I find different brands are easier/harder to stir than others. I mostly prefer Trader Joe's and it's pretty easy to stir. For the more watery/oily ones, I tend to store them upside down the night before I'm going to stir & refrigerate, and that helps. Once it's cold it seems easy enough -- it's just that initial stirring that's sometimes tough.

Use a mixer

I have not tried this with almond butter yet however it works with peanut butter. Take a hand held mixer, only use 1 of the blade attachements. Hold the jar with one hand, place the mixing blade in the jar and turn on low. It mixes it very quickly. It's very important to use a low setting and to hold the jar or you will have the butter all over the kitchen.

If you are worried about it being inedible because you left some foil on, that probably didn't hurt it. The biggest danger of metal in a microwave is starting fires. Unless you actually burned the top of the almond butter with sparks or something, it should be ok.

Make sure to stir it when it is at room temperature.
Use a butter knife (gets into the bottom corners).
Refrigerate to keep it from separating again.

Or

Put the container upside down for a while. The oil will start to rise to what was the bottom, making it easier to stir.
