Hey!
OMG, NO I did NOT use the full 20 pounds. I used 14 pounds and I was dying! I made it through the standing leg work until the second set of leg presses and then the vest came off. I was sweating buckets. The vest made the workout very different for a couple reasons:
1.) It made me soooo hot. I was dying of heat having that on me the whole time. When I finally took it off, my shirt was soaked.
2.) The vest is longer than my torso so every time I squat or lunge, it hits my thighs and that was really annoying/distracting.
I'm really sore today but in a different way than I normally am. My legs feel really, really stiff. I am not in love with the vest. I definetely wish it was shorter and it was just really strange having it on--I think it will just take some getting used to. It was nice not to have to lift so much weight over my head with the barbell, though.
I'd love to try it for PLB and B&G but I wonder how annoying the vest will be since it's always hitting my thighs when I lunge/squat.
That's all I can think of for now! Thanks for asking!!
Thanks for responding. I'm going to try it later this weekend. It made me hot too while I was doing Amy's dvd for legs. I think it just takes a little getting used to. I'm 5'3'' but I don't remember it interfering with my lunges/squats.
This is one of the reasons I'm really looking forward to Cathe's weighted vest...it looks small and compact, and I hope it will help avoid some of the issues you had.
