after overeating/binge

what do you all do to compensate for overeating or a binge? i just binged and i'm realizing its b/c i'm undereating and overexercising. I feel terrible and know whats in the past cannot be undone but wanted to know what you all do after an eating episode I haven't worked out yet today but i'm thinking of doing so not to make myself feel better. also, for those that have the bodybugg/GWF did you finally realize you were undereating and have sinced increased cals? I've been trying to eat 1500cals per day but it seems like every 2-4 weeks i binge b/c i'm so damn hungry!

I've been trying to eat more clean food and cut out the junk. I try not to allow myself to get too hungry, because for me that's a big no-no, an ice-cream bar binge would surely follow. If I do happen to falter, then I forgive myself and move on.

i know you cannot out exercise a bad diet but i worked out to at least burn off some cals. I did meso 2 week 1 legs and then tagged on 30 minutes of the elliptical. I plan on drinking tons of water and eating some protein and carbs for dinner. I really need to get away from processed foods as i feel its causing awful cravings. i'm actually suprised that i'm not beating myself up for binging and i'm just moving on. to me this is a sign of improvment. well off to shower and get some studying done.

If you "had a binge" and were undereating or over exercising, then its not really a binge its just your body adjusting. Try listening to Inside Out Weight Loss Podcast on how to do exercise in a sane manner and also how to self correct when you have a binge.

one more thing, if you are having cravings usually they are caused by a deficiency in healthy fats or antibiotics (a probiotic will help if that is the problem.) Also, did you know that most binges start with a carbohydrate and end with a combination of fat and protein? If you want to put a stop to a binge, get some protein/fat.

thanks:) you know i keep reading the recommendations for the inside out weight loss podcast but i have yet to listen to it. mabe i will do that tonight. my binge was purely carbs. I had soooo much energy that my workout kicked A** but now i'm soooo bloated. YUCK!

Hey - this is great advice!

I have noticed this too.

I have added some avocado to lunch, and it has made a huge difference.

I always reach for a few almonds if I start hovering in the pantry looking for quick fuel...or after eating something that has spiked my blood sugar.

This is why I don't count or restrict calories or the occassional treat, . .I think it leads to binging. With that said try not to beat yourself up. Your human we are all human and this happens to all of us. I lost a battle on my birthday July 3rd with a giant peice of birthday cake that was taunting me all day long. I swear my mouth was just salivating at the thought of that whip cream frosting. My solution a very long walk with the family, . .it put the bloat in check and made me feel better.

can i just say i think i now understand why marathon runners have a carb up before a race. With all the carbs I ate yesterday, I had such an intense CCV5 workout this morning. I pushed myself like never before and surpassed my last speeds. The extra energy was amazing. Wish i could say the same thing about the swelling/bloat LOL.
