Aerobics shoes inserts?

Greetings, sportsfans, and apologies if this has been covered before:

I'm trying to get as much use out of a couple pair of really crappy clearance-sale New Balance cross-trainers before I launch my next search for studio shoes. The problem is that the insoles do not have much impact absorption at all, and the inserts the shoe guy sold me feel lumpy on the soles of my feet.

Are there any inserts for studio athletic shoes that are nice and soft and cushiony and impact-absorbtiony?

(Didn't know that was a word, didja?)

(Well, maybe it isn't. Maybe I just made it up.)

Anyway, any info would be appreciated!

TIA -

A-Jock, thanks for posting. I also need some more impact-absorptionism...:D My Asics Gel Intensities are on their last legs, and if some great inserts could help prolong their life without me having to buy new shoes, that'd be cool...

That's interesting that they have those. I used NB several years ago but stopped because their shoes just don't have enough cushion for me (although they fit my feet VERY well). The guy at the shoe store said it was because so many people take them out and use other inserts instead. I thought that was stupid because it kind of defeats the purpose of getting new sneakers. I'll have to bookmark this, though, so thanks!
