Aerobic bouncers - why?

I was going to do one of the Exercise on Demand workouts tonight for a change of pace, but I started it and quickly decided - "No thanks!" I can't stand when the participants do that little bounce thing when they're marching. I don't get the point of it, nor can I even DO it! It annoys me, can you tell?
 
Just a guess but are they bouncing because they're putting more energy into the movement? I've been accused of being a bouncy walker as I walk down the hall at work because I always walk fast and with a lot of energy. Guess that's because I'm always in a hurry.

Now, what I really think is stupid is the posing people do in exercise videos. I did a couple of TLTs this week and I hate the "ta da" poses they do at the end of an exercise segment. Maybe I'm not used to it since I didn't start with the Firms like a lot of people did but it strikes me as very silly.
