Hi Cathe,
I'm new to your tapes. In fact I've never used yours before. I've heard so many good things about your tapes and want to buy a set (I'm very short on money).

I am a beginner. I'm choreographically challenged. I need something straight forward and not complicated. Simple moves is what I need.

I'm 40 and need to tone up everywhere. I'm 5' and 10Lb overweight and too much fat everywhere.

Cathe and all others, could you please help me? What should I buy?

Hi! Have you used other workout videos before? If not, I would suggest checking out Kathy Smith and Gin Miller to get you used to just using a step (if cardio workouts are what you are looking for) and dumbells (if you are planning to strength train). If you have already done the basics, then I think you could start with Cathe's How to Get In Shape For Your Wedding. Check reviews of this tape at videofitness.com. (It is very tough intensity-wise for a beginner, so please start with one of the other instructors for cardio if you haven't already.) The second half, however, is a strength training portion which uses light weights and won't overwhelm you. The whole tape is really not representative of Cathe in my opinion, but the choreography is more basic than her other tapes, and it is a good introduction to her intensity!
Again, if you are truly a beginner, I wouldn't want you to start out with Cathe, as you may get ovewhelmed! Collagevideo.com adn videofitness.com are terrific resources to get you started, and then you will be ready to ease into Cathe!
Good Luck!
:) Wendy

I too agree that Cathe tapes are not for the beginner. If you are short on money, why not go to the library and check out a few fitness videos? Our library charges 50 cents for a two week rental. That way you can get an idea of what instructors you like etc. Cathe's tapes are geared toward the advanced excerciser.

Be careful with a late video return--at my library it turned out to be $1.00 a day. And videos couldn't be placed in the outside return box.

Triple the motion that Cathe is not for a beginner. But if you insist and want something newer than the Wedding video, I'd go with CTX kickboxing because it has the simplest choreography (in my opinion) and isn't too hard except for the power scissors.
