Jes, take something for the pain, or at least drink some nice soothing tea. I'm sorry to hear about the deep tissue massage not feeling good to you. I personally can't stand deep tissue massage myself, if you don't like it, ask them not to do it next time. As they'll tell you it's suppose to feel uncomfortable, until you get use to it. And well, I could never get use to it. But remember it's your choice. Just like to go and get treated it was your choice as well. I never have a deep tissue massage anymore, just the straight alignment, as it gives me sever headaches afterwards, and I tried it for several months, never got use to it either. Anyone who thinks about trying that with me now, will be on their head. But then my neck is pretty messed up with the metal pin, and the bones are fused together, but I just don't do well with someone digging into my skin looking for pressure points to push.
But with c-2 out, that does cause a lot of headaches, and you may feel better tomorrow, as your neck might just be spazzing. This sometimes happens with me as well when I'm really out. Mostly because I haven't went and seen my chiropractor like I should. BTW if you don't feel comfortable with any of this, make them stop. You can take your x-rays and get a second opinion as well. And I tell that to everyone, no matter what type of doctor, get a second opinion if your not comfortable. As you may like one school better then another, and the only way your going to know is to ask questions and ask different people, and try a little bit here and there. As once you describe your likes, most can tell you, if their school will fit into what you like or it won't. I like gentle press adjustments, with hands and an activator. Where as my mother likes the quick crack/pop adjustment, a bit of a harsher move done to really make you pop. So we see different chiropractors but are in the same building. And let them know how you feel, and do ask and see if they can do other methods, as everyone is different. Now two people can be re-aligned the same way, and have the same results. And the only way to get fixed without a lot of pain, is to tell them what you felt and what you didn't like and stress things when you don't want to do the same thing again. Just remember you are paying for this, and you need to be comfortable and not hurting when you go home.
Tomorrow you will probably feel better but tired, and your neck may even feel tired. That is normal, if your neck muscles are spazing. As they are using up a whole lot of energy to try and move that bone back out of alignment. As they are use to being all curled up with the bad alignment. And now all stretched out is the weaker state, as it's been so long since they were in proper alignment, they don't like it. They want to be in that tight knot that gave you a headache in the first place, to only now give you this horrible throbbing headache, because they don't want to behave and stretch out like good muscles. This will pass and probably won't happen unless you wait for quite awhile to get re-adjusted. Since your next appt. is Monday I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.
If you are reading this to night, go take something and lie down, and rest and sleep and take the weight off your back and neck, this will help with the adjustment as well as allowing the muscles to get use to their new/old home. But most of all just let them relax, try a nice warm bath, or a heating pad, or if you’re like me, try ice. I tense with heat, so heating pads and me don't get along.
Good luck and I'm sure things will be better for you tomorrow.
