Active users: really that many?

According to the info at the bottom of the site, right now, there are 2620 active users, including 1902 guests. If that's true, then we have lots of people lurking!
 
I don't have to log in when I come here (it remembers my info), so I can't 'lurk' unless I intentionally log out.;)

Naw, then you'd be counted as a 'registered user'.

I'm just wondering if this could possibly be right?
The list of registered users who are supposedly logged on takes up a huge chunk of the bottom of the forum main page!

Maybe it's always (often?) like that, but I never noticed before.

Is everyone waiting with bated breath for news on STS? ;)

I can barely stand it!!! I know realistically that we probably will not see it until sometime in February, but I keep scouring the web site looking for an update that they have shipped!
 
I noticed this awhile back and wondered who the heck all these people were. About 1/2 or more I recognize from being here so often, but the other 1/2 of 2620 I have no idea!!!! The numbers did go up exponentially (good word huh?) when we switched over to Cathe Nation, but some of us may be registered more than once. Like me. It never allowed me to get my old username so I must still be in there as registered, but just doesn't show up because I'm not logged in. Maybe there are lots of people that have that same problem. Either that or we are one popular website!!!!!

Some days I lurk and do not log in. I few of my friends were not able to get their old user names back, so they may be registered twice
 
That seems like an awful lot of people. I wonder if that's right?
