I'm about to scream! We woke up this morning to water in teh basement yet again :( We thought we had this licked by putting in a chimney cap, but now I see that the water is coming in through the cement in one corner! I saw the "B-Dry" system on one of those home shows on TV, and just signed up for a free estimate. Has anybody used them or something similar? We need something that WORKS. Thanks!

don't have any info but i feel your pain. in our apartment the AC has stopped up and leaked and its ALL OVER my daughter's room. i haven't gotten a call back from property management yet but if they don't call me back by the time i get off work i will be calling the health department b/c the guy tried to get somebody to come out for clean up last night but couldn't get anybody :-(.

Hey Lisa - I would be cautious of B-Dry. In my experience it's like putting a bandaid on a sliced artery - it may appear to minimize the problem, but it's not a true "fix". I hate to say this, but we had a water problem in our basement - with water coming in through the foundation. Turns out that when they built my home they put the footers below the footer drains, which was backwards. We decided to bite the bullet and have it properly fixed. Not cheap (to the tune of like $17,000) - but ya' know what - it can be a 500 year flood now and I don't worry at all about my basement. It was truly the best thing we could have done. So get the quote from B-Dry, but you may also want to get a quote from a water proofing company and see what the difference would be - not only in price, but also in service. Good luck -- I SOOOOOO feel your pain. I've shed many a tear over ruination from basement water woes.

I don't know how helpful this will be, but the people who owned our house before us used a basement waterproofing company which has a lifetime guarantee. I don't know what it cost them, but we have never had any water in the basement. It seems to have worked very nicely!

Last Year I had gotten 3 inches of water in my entire basement it was not the first time we had gotten water we decided to put french drains with a sub pump it cost us $5000 but it was well worth it no worries about water ever again.

When it rains heavily in the winter we get lots of water in the cellar. In the late spring no water comes in. We have had up to 8 inches and I have to wear boots! I wish I had a solution!
