ACE certification

I want to look into this. Where did you go to school or which online course did you take? My community college has a personal fitness trainer certification (WITS) 50 hr program comprised of 15 hrs of lecture, 15 hrs of practical gym and 20 hr internship. Although I like this course, it seems several gyms have never hear of this certification. I'm sure the ACE certification is a little cheaper so I'd be willing to start with ACE then move to the WITS.

Please let me know where you took your ACE, how long it took you to complete the coursework then get certified. Thank you.

Carmen.

Many years, I got certified through ACE and by CEC's, I made it to level 4. I ordered a book to study then my testing was at a college or university such as Washtenaw CC in Ann Arbor and Wayne State in downtown Detroit. I had to retake the exam twice.
Roughly, six months to get certified. The test was multiple choice with only one best answer although it it written that there could be more than one correct answer.
After my certification, I bought some of their stuff like leather athletic bag and pants which I still have.

If you're serious about it and want to become a trainer, I would go with ACSM certification. It is the most respected agency out there. If you're just looking for a certification for your own personal education, ACE, IDEA, AFAA or any of these or other ones would be fine!
