AccuMeasure Caliper

I got mine on Ebay for about $10 including shipping. It's takes a little practice but once you get it, it is pretty easy to use. The hardest part is making sure you use the same spot every time. If not, there is a big difference in your measurements.

I got mine at GNC. Yes you only measure the one area. I like it. I don't know how accurate it is, but I use mine as a gage. If it goes down, then I know I'm improving.

I just ordered one from Amazon, and used it for the first time yesterday, so I haven't yet had a chance to track any progress. I was so pleased to see, though, that my body fat was MUCH lower using this than it is on my Tanita scale!

I bought the Acsumeasure 3000 on Amazon for $12.65. There are several versions out there, but I figured that the newer version of it might be more improved.

Don't trust those body fat analyzer scales! I have one (not a Tanita) that gives bogus results. DH got on, told it he was a 51-year-old male and his height, and it said he was 24% fat. Then he got back on and told it he was a 30-year-old male - now he was only 16% fat. He tried a 3rd time, telling it he was a 51-year-old woman, and it said he was 32% fat! Based on this, I don't think it was calculating the actual fat in his body at all - it must just have the height/weight/age/gender charts programmed.

Are the calipers pretty easy to use?
