Abs every day?

Hello, Cathe! Sorry if I didn't directed my other question to you. I thought it was obvious that it was for you just by posting it to this forum.

Okay, my question is... Why do some people advice to do ab work every day, when I keep reading that there should be a rest day in between? Even experienced exercisers do that. And some abs video tapes, have five routines for five days (Firm, for example). Some people that I know have ONLY achieved the results that they want by working them every day. What is the safe and best approach to trim the abs?

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi Mariela! I feel there is no right or wrong answer to this. I like to advise people to do no more than 3 to 4 ab workouts per week. I think that is plenty and beyond that I find most people get bored with the same old crunches and start to rush through their routines just to say that they did them. I think 3 to 4 ab routines that engage the ab muscles both in traditional crunches as well as through core strength exercises along with the use of stabilization and balance techniques, is plenty variety and plenty effective. Some may feel differently, and that is fine too. Each individual has to find what they feel works best for them.
