? about walking lunges!!

I am going to start the BOOT CAMP rotation tomorrow. How the heck do you do walking lunges in a fairly small living room? Outdoors is not a option. Also instead of the 3 mile run can I do Step N intervals, and for 5 mile run do one of the imax's? Or is there something else to do instead? Sorry so many questions, but I really respect all your inputs. Thanks again!! Lori BC

As far as walking lunges are concerned, your just gonna have to go back and forth in the little bit of room you have.I go from my kitchen to my patio door which is about 10 lunges, by the time I am on number 50, I have to take a breather.They are tough and you will feel them!
You don't like running? Or have you ever tried it? It is a great exercise.One of the Imax's would be great or any cardio.If you can't run then you can just sub any type of cardio, as long as you get it in.

I just do walking lunges in my house. Kinda like Lori said. I do 4 sets of 60 with 4lbs. For the 3 mile run you might want to just do an Imax Blast only....and yes I agree for the 5 mile run one of the Imaxes would be perfect....:).....Carole
 
THanks again ladies, My two boys are going to think I've lost my mind when I start doing lunges around the house. But I will give it a go. I hope I can make it 200 seems like alot!! Lori BC
 
I have done them in my house once because of bad weather. I look forward to doing them in the snow though because I think it will add more resistance. LOL! Anyhow, I don't have a long hallway in my home, but I still manage to get in 300 walking lunges with the 15lbs db's. I made the mistake of doing them with my socks on and almost slipped since I have hardwood flooring throughout. So tie up them laces and get going! If I can do it in my little house, you can do it! I did mine inbetween cleaning. LOL

You can do them in a very small space: two lunges forward, then turn, then two lunges back (start each turn with the opposite foot). To avoid the turning, you could also do two lunges forward, then two lunges backward to return to start, then start again, leading with opposite foot.
